Thursday, April 01, 2010 8:26:35 AM DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, WHERE DID THESE FACTS COME FROM?? Prolonged usage of Steroids can cause all of those things yes, but usage that is regulated and cycled will not cause it. Steroids are a God send for people with Aids, it helps them produce white blood cells, and there are people that use them regularly while recovering from surgery and to fight of other diseases. Dont trust everything you see on the internet. Thats all. |

Thursday, April 01, 2010 7:10:26 AM "Unfortunately, most textbooks I've seen regard tumor as both benign and malignant." I agree, but most textbooks don't use tumor and cancer as the same word. And that's what I'm trying to say. Because tumor and cancer isn't the same, just as nonickforme says :) |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 12:29:38 PM Legion5, your understanding of side-effects is almost as baffling as your spelling of the word "disease". Just because the item you're reading (or, more likely, the item you have been told by someone who reads) is what you want to hear doesn't mean that it's true, bitch tits. And tumor is not synonymous with cancer, not even when you cherry pick your research. I don't generally think that many people trust folks who struggle to spell words and make sentences with medical advice. But, then again, I'm an optimist. (Oh, shoot! I'm predisposed to sarcastic responses; that means it's not a side effect of visiting IAB.) |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 10:08:27 AM Madest: In the short term, it does improve ability. It is in the long term that it really messes you up. They also discourage the use of steroids because they are dangerous and allowing steroid use is basically telling other athletes that they should harm themselves in order to get ahead. |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 10:01:54 AM a tumor and cancer is not the same. So liver tumor and liver cancer is also not the same. If the tumor is not able to perform metastasis then it's not cancer but just a 'tumor'. Unfortunately, most textbooks I've seen regard tumor as both benign and malignant. |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 8:52:09 AM @legion5: If you have an interest in medicine, and seeing you are from the US, you should be able to write "disease". More importantly, a tumor and cancer is not the same. So liver tumor and liver cancer is also not the same. If the tumor is not able to perform metastasis then it's not cancer but just a 'tumor'. |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 5:54:11 AM daniellee_x hormones are trigger mechanisms i the body, basically if a guy has or is predisposed to man boobs it can cause his man boobs to sprout(a large chunk of men have or are predisposed to the condition gynecomastia) In women who already have boobs it essentially suppresses their maximum size, because men with man boobs don't have a maximum size this isn't an issue, but I suppose in men with severe man boobs it can cause them to go down in size. |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 5:46:20 AM Liver tumors and cancer - first off these are the same thing, and these are theoretical and unsubstantiated. You put your liver under stress anyway as an athlete, being an athlete causes liver cancer rates to climb nausea & vomiting - this is unsubstantiated and a catch all symptom of anything abdominal pain & diarrhea - again unsubstantiated and a catch all symptom Kidney Disease -only if you overdo them Testicular Shrinkage -this is temporary the steroids are testosterone and signal your body that it's making too much testosterone, your testicles produce testostorone so they shrink because your body turns them off temporarily Impotence - this is caused by improper post cycle therapy (read up on it) Bruising/Infections (from injections) - this is ridiculous and most modern steroids are oral Stunted Growth - A spike in testostorone closes your growth plates and that's why you shouldn't take steroids under the age of |

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 5:44:30 AM Personally I think this is the most abysmal post ever seen in IAB but that's because I have an interest in athletics nutrition and medicine. Debunk: Brain Cancer - Only theoretically, realistically diet coke also increases brain cancer risks Depression/Violent Behavior - This is a temporary effect Bad Breath - steroids give you a temporary reduction in bone density this includes teeth, and only lasts when you're on them. The biggest effect of temporary bone density loss besides more britle bones is that tooth desises will become much more likley to take root and cause bad breath. These deseises are easily cured, and often temporary. Heart Attack - this is an effect of being more physically capable all of a sudden not steroids. Development of breats - this only happens if you have gynocostia meaning you already have to have breasts as a man and it will make them bigger.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 2:00:04 AM This is all a load of crap. Most of the effects of anabolic steroids are REVERSIBLE and can cause some issues if abused for many years. The fact of the matter is you can make a chart like this with pretty much ANY medication; they all have bad side-effects. Also, the "Roid Rage" had been debunked by both endocrinologists and Psychologists as nothing more than psycho-somatic. |
