i don't understand pro-abortionists... how is it "your" right to choose and the life growing inside you gets nada, nichts, zero? you already had the right to choose...WHEN YOU DECIDED TO SCREW OR NOT!!!!! |

i see a lot of insults and that doesn't prove your point only makes you look as ignorant as the person you are bashing. Abortion is a womens right and if you dont agree dont do it yourself! and turn your head the other way simple as that. Its a women's rights to do whatever she wants with her body and the "baby" is still in HER body |

My take on this is that a baby is alive when its conceived. But quite honestly, I don't give half a hell about a little forming baby if its gonna cost me the rest of my life. Even if I was the irresponsible one that got knocked up. It's me > fetus. |

This is one of the thousands of reasons abortion needs to be legal 100% of the time. One can only hope pro lifers would never insist on carrying to term something that would become a lifetime burden on society. |

That's exactly what does happen.
Guys are free to express their opinion, and I hate the "you're not involved so you shouldn't get to discuss it" attitude. I'll be damned if I'm going to shut up about something this important. The woman is not the only one affected by an abortion. Physically, yes. Emotionally, hell no.
But ultimately, no-one in the civilised world can legally force a woman to have an abortion if it's against her will. They have the final choice, and that's the way it has to be. |

A fetus's heart pauses between beats too. So if you are alive even though your heart pauses, then why isn't the unborn baby?
My counter-counter-example was to point out how ridiculous your counter-example was. Holding your breath does not mean that breathing is not a necessary sign of life, any more than my heart stopping between beats is a sign of my death.
shouldn't your definition of life be moved back a little FROM NINE MONTHS??
I don't actually support abortions as late as 9 months. I was just using an extreme example.
Crackr has picked the sign of life he finds most convenient to support his point, the heartbeat. I chose the sign of life I found most convenient to support my point, breathing.
Both are essential signs of life, and the prolonged absence of either is a clear sign of death. To pick one over the other and say "this one happens, therefore the baby is alive at this point" is ridiculous. |
