Wednesday, March 24, 2010 9:29:54 PM Technically, they're not at war either. Congress hasn't voted to declare war since June 5, 1942. |

Tuesday, March 23, 2010 4:30:03 AM DFWBrysco' Beyond that, aseirinn you're fighting a losing debate - you are trying to apply the old "who's ultimately responsible for death" discussion and there is no winner in that.' aseirinn; I simply wished to make the point that, alot of Americans think they are at 'war' therefore 'war' was declared...It wasn't; what does 'war on terror' mean?, this has no legitmate meaning...it'd be like saying 'war on evil'. it makes no sense because what is 'evil'?, 'Terrorism'?. It's an ambiguous statement, a simplified statement to make an illegitimate illegal invasion seem legitimate to the masses...Que 'Photo of Obama in Cammies', odd that?...has he visited yet? Monday, March 22, 2010 10:46:21 PM Who cares if its a war zone or not. That's a marine. That statement could have been written on any random classroom wall and still be true. In fact, look at that great penmanship and grammar! |

Just thought I would add this." It is just the light. He is in Deserts and they are in Garrison. That's def. a barracks room. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 9:08:54 PM Upon a second look: I noticed that it "looks" like the Marine in the background is in green cammies.(Maybe the light is distorting it) If so, this was written in garrison, which is to say, not a warzone, otherwise the Marine would be in desert cammies. Just thought I would add this. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 9:04:57 PM Reading the comments I realize it's totally true what we say. Only a Marine can understand another Marine. This writing is through another Marines' perspective. The person that wrote it most definitely wanted to simply say that the rest of America for the most part stands very detached to this on going war and are too busy being consumers to fully understand or even care what is really happening there. Furthermore, there is not a Marine out there who has not had to work close with other branches and who, aside from the playful jabs at other branches, truly appreciates their brothers and sisters in arms and what they do. I think that while this writing gives a general concensuis among our fighting men and women, the mentality that they have nobody to rely on but themselves is probably what helps them stay alive in combat. You certainly aren't there to help them. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 8:43:38 PM 100% true sad to say. It's been a long time since I felt America has my back. Especially when I was there the second time around. |
