Wednesday, March 24, 2010 8:58:20 AM SumRandom1 - A 32GB microSD card for $15? You shouldn't lie on the internet, someone will pick up on it :/ Just checked, they don't even sell 32GB microSD cards on buy.com... |

" according to moore's law current technology would get outdated every 18 months. and as for the 32gb msd cards, i believe small size + more storage = slower read/write speed |

Monday, March 22, 2010 10:05:42 PM well, making the actual storage medium physically smaller than a micro SD would be completely impractical. We can look forward to those things holding 32 TB in the next 10 years, so I can store my 3D 4K movies on my handheld supercomputer. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 5:13:38 PM "my HTC HD2 is 32g sd capable... and a friend of mine owns an older mp3player from SanDisk id also 32gb capable... sooooo, its gonna be about year before thats outdated. and honestly, i dont know if i need more than 32gb with me... of course i said that when my pc had 12gb hd 10 years ago... " pretty much anything that accepts SD cards, not even have to be SDHC, can take a 16gb card, and more than 1/2 of those can read 32gb. my Samsung a920 can read a 16gb card and I'm confident it can read a 32gb if I had one. my instinct came right out and said it could read up to 32gb. but at the rate we're increasing A) how much space something takes up, B) quality of said material (goes hand and hand with a) and C) how much stuff we like to tote around, we're going to be filling those cards quickly. phones that can now handle HD video (especially if they output 720p) require files 500+mb/30min show. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 3:35:25 PM Yeah. Almost everything in computing works according to moors law. Only thing that hasn't realy improved are access times to hard drives. I bet that storage rack could load the state-of-the-art word processor of that time 10 times faster than you can launch notepad from that SD-card. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 2:46:45 PM "estimated value = $100-15 weight: .5grams" "With a retail price of $200 and a weight of just 0.5 grams" Read More despite them showing Samsung 32gb microsd cards which have been announce but not released, at least these sandisk will be released tomorrow. and for the price, I'll stick to my 16gb's I got for $25 each. btw, in case it hasn't been mentioned, 32gb is the max for SDHC's, we are now limited on phones by the phone manufacturers who only put SDHC slots and not SDXC. Monday, March 22, 2010 1:35:18 PM Just remember, If it hadn't been for that 1980's technology today's technology wouldn't exist. The investment that disk system represents means that electronic engineers could map and create next generations of cpus and memory. Was well worth the money back then. |

Monday, March 22, 2010 12:52:33 PM Yeah, and they are working on SDXC, which will allow 2 terabytes of storage in the same amount of space. Beauty of engineering, we keep trying to make things better! |
