That's what gets onto IAB these days? A photo of a couple of floppy discs? I've got some old Apple ][ 5 1/4" Floppy discs downstairs... will they be featured if I take a photo of them? |

Nowadays its all about billions of polygons but only a dozen opponents. Somehow I miss what it was like when it was the other way round... :( |

my first computer was a Commodore Vic-20, it had a cassette drive and the OS was BASIC...I graduated to a Spectrum. I miss the eggbert games, and frequently look for R-Type. |

I remember 8 inch floppies like it was yesterday... Playing "games" on my Dad's Apple II E. The World War II one where you flew around and dropped bombs was my favorite. Don't remember what it was called. |

I still have the doom II installation on 4 floppy disks. CD rom's weren't invented. Considering each disk held just 1.44mb of data - Doom / Doom II were really immersive 3D games that could take hours to play all 32 levels. Sure the graphics were blocky, but in 93 they were the pinnacle of gaming. I still play them. I know I am old compared to most of you guys but the game play in Doom is superb. Especially when you have hundreds of opponents of 10 + different types all converging on you and all you have is a BFG and a double barrel shot gun! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!! |
