Wednesday, March 03, 2010 7:37:06 PM Some roosterbag threw that branch up there it looks like. I would be a murderous fool if my power went out because of that. |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 7:33:04 PM I don't get why this doesn't happen everyday. I always see tree branches on powerlines. |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 6:07:41 PM I like how the branch was like screaming XD but it also sort of sounded like someone letting air out of a balloon while pinching it |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 4:15:23 PM Ha yeah it really just fell on there all on it's own and conveniently someone just happened to catch it on film. More like someone got a camera and tossed it up there so they could film the results lol. |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 3:28:57 PM it kind of sounds like a firecracker being smothered, poor tree branch and anything that might have lived on that branch |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 3:24:43 PM "I just...imagined...a squirrel..."I saw the aftereffects of that very thing. I went to a guy's house to pick up a car I was buying from him and when we were talking outside there was a huge "BOOM!!!" from behind the house and his wife hollered from inside, "WTF was that?! The lights just went out!" We all went behind the house and found a well-cooked squirrel on the ground under the power line. Apparently it crossed from one line to the other and got zapped. We could see the path of the electricity burned onto it's body. It went diagonally from front to back, singed the hair off a narrow strip of the belly and exited at the hind leg. The leg was blown apart at the top but there was no blood, the shock must have instantly cauterized it. Yeah, it was gross and it smelled bad, but that squirrel never knew what hit it. Instant death. |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 2:12:02 PM hehe, batmanners is right. sadly i'm not an electric nerd tho, a shame really. air was probably ionized or something allowing the electricity to follow the path of least resistance through it. *shrug* |

Wednesday, March 03, 2010 2:06:05 PM It's caused by the differences in the current and voltage in the wire. You get fried by the current not being able to ground itself, because it's running into another current that's a different voltage. |
