for close quarters stick your forearm all the way into the back of their mouth where their jaws come together (obviously works best with a coat or something on) and then grab the scruff of their neck and pin their head to the ground. They WILL let go and now you can do as you will. |

Most normal-sized human males could fight off an average-sized german shepherd if charged in the wide open by the dog. Close quarters is a different equation. I wouldn't want to try either way.
For CQC, you want to go for the eyes, inside the ears, or, to a lesser extent, the snout. If you're feeling crazy or just have no choice, the inside of the mouth is very tender...though there's the minor issue of getting your fingers bitten off.
BTW, if you do this to a police dog, chances are the officer will drat you up. Then shoot you out of spite. |

dooflotchie, actually, it's a controversy in canada becuase killing a police animal is NOT assalting or killing a police officer. in Toronto a while back a police horse was killed on purpose and i think the guy only got assult for the guy on the horse, and animal cruelty, which comes with only a fine |

You *DO* realize that the only category in which you *MIGHT* equal the dog is weight, right? Even with an "equalizer" like a club or a knife he's likely to have you on the ground and bleeding before you can say "Good doggie!" I'm not sure how it works up there in Canadia, but here in the US if a cop sends the K9 after you and you attack the dog or kill it, you'll get charged with assaulting or killing a police officer just the same as if it was a human. |

The lives of soldiers or police officers can be saved or lost depending on whether or not this dog does it's job. The point of an exercise like this is to make sure the dog follows EVERY command and goes after EVERY target the handler chooses no matter what it has to go through first. |
