It's not that being fat is a conscious decision, it's a result of the choices someone makes. So although I have empathy for these people because it's often circumstance that drives the problem, making good choices can always reverse the problem, and thus my empathy doesn't stretch to people who find reasons and create excuses for their obesity instead of making those (often difficult) decisions that can reverse it.

I'm a little late, since I had schoolwork, but I would like to point out that I was born with insulin resistence and developed PCOS at a young age. Both cause weight gain. You know what causes those problems? Weight. It's a circle, and I'm pretty sure my zygote didn't eat a cheeseburger to start it.
