Wednesday, May 12, 2010 9:18:27 PM The rubber supposable moves faster than the speed of sound in air, which is what causes the pop sound.

Saturday, February 27, 2010 4:13:29 AM What OldOllie said. Look up Harold Edgerton, as he was the pioneer in high speed photography (using strobe lighting). |

Friday, February 26, 2010 11:44:06 PM Actually, this is not done with a high-speed camera. In fact, the camera is rather ordinary. The picture is taken in a dark room with a precisely timed high-speed strobe. The duration of the strobe flash in this and other similar pictures is considerably less than 1 millisecond. The shutter can be opened for quite some time before the shot and closed afterwards. |

Friday, February 26, 2010 4:10:36 PM Shokz... do you honestly thing someone didn't realize that this was an image taken by a high-speed camera? Such images might be commonplace on the internet, but they are still interesting. I think it is interesting, and it would appear nearly everyone else agrees with me on that. |

Friday, February 26, 2010 3:21:53 PM Shokz, I don't care if it's a frame taken from a high-speed camera. It's freaking awesome. Way to be a downer. |

Friday, February 26, 2010 3:14:56 PM They cheated! They popped the balloon first then had a ninja quickly throw a dart at it before it finished popping.Ninja's can't get you if you hide behind a popping balloon. |

Friday, February 26, 2010 2:44:53 PM If anything, this didn't deserve to be posted at all - as others have stated, this is clearly a frame taken from a high speed camera, nothing cool about it.That said, there's also been far better examples of these types of things posted here before as the actual video footage (slow motion of water balloons popping and stuff). |
