Does anyone find it interesting that the pharmaceutical companies go out of their way to find a way to get the results of THC without the high, but it's considered perfectly ok for chemo to hurt like a b*tch and have all sorts of nasty side effects? Sounds screwed up to me.

sounds screwed up to me too. why does the government not want us to feel good?

yes amaru....but, if it were decrim'd instead of being legalized, the jails would not lose money. They would be less croweded and less of our tax dollars would be wasted on locking up a stoner...and mrijuana = probable cause or suspicion for anyone white or not white. IMO i don't think they will fully ever legalize it (although I would love it as well) except for medical reasons because i think the government knows they wouldn't be able to regulate it very well...if they were to decriminalize it, then we wouldn't have people going to prison over a little bit of marijuana, they would get a fine and be sent on their way. It would bring in tax dollars instead of wasting them on letting stoners rot in prison which is retarted.

and its not weed, its hemp oil. do u no how hard that poo it to make?

hemp oil cures cancer, its a miracle drug. and nixon made a bunch of scientists research weed be4 he enacted some drug policy, which, i forget now in the face of so many. the scientists confirmed that it posed no harm, even if taken in in human amounts. he dimissed it as the work of "dirty jews" and proceeded to drat up anyway.

and ronald reagen was the white devil. fudgec him

juggalette, ur toally missing the fact that pharmacy companies would lose money, (ALOT OF dratIGN MONEY) our jails would lose money, (since 1985's say no policy, the us has tripled its amount of prisons.) police would literally have little reason to stop minorities, (marijuana = probable cause or suspicion for anyone not white) and all the commercials you see in tv, or in ads? totally ignored by stoners for the most part. why? marijuana can help prove psychology most psychology theories, and totally destory them all as well. the cotton and paper companies is the reason hemp is illegal? thats liek the tip of the ice berg.

"Legalize it! I love how people are arguing about regulations and prices and stuff, when if legal, you could just grow your own for personal use, and not worry about the market. The government just wants to be able to impose their "morals" on the public as well as keep a product out of the market which would put a sizable dent in the bottom line for paper and cotton industries, which are inferior to hemp."

If it were legal, you wouldn't be able to grow your own....the government would try to regulate that.

Why did alcohol prohibition require a constitutional amendment, but marijuana prohibition was done by simple majority votes in congress? The fact is, the federal government has no legitimate constitutional authority for marijuana prohibition.

"Take ordinary cigarettes, for example. Those mean nasty killers also just happen to lower your blood pressure, reduce your chance of Alzheimers , endometrial cancer, Parkinson's disease, ulcerative colitis, and hypertension."

Pot doesn't slowly kill you, nor does it dramatically shorten your life expectancy.

@razlem we don't need another corporation extracting a chemical from certain plants to patent it and get rich off people with cancer. Chinese medicine has been treating tumors for thousands of years. I even seen pancreatic cancer being treated effectively in the Chengdu Chinese medicine hospital.

According to TCM marijuana is a strong sedative and it can slow down the rate of cancer. However, it is never used for this purpose because it's in the long run it is debilitating.

Lionhart is right. What they need to do is figure out what chemical stops the tumors, extract it, and make a cure.

Smoking pot will not cure your cancer.

Its hardly surprising; Chinese and Amerindians used it as a MEDICINAL herb for thousands of years. Fact is, anything has its good and bad sides.

Take ordinary cigarettes, for example. Those mean nasty killers also just happen to lower your blood pressure, reduce your chance of Alzheimers , endometrial cancer, Parkinson's disease, ulcerative colitis, and hypertension. (Source: Official Govt Quit Smoking Website)

But you won't see that info splashed around the place either, that would make ciggies look possibly ok.

Well said, madest. There are republicans who are good, rational people, but they make the mistake of associating themselves with an entire culture of irrational bigotry and paranoia.
Anyway, I do have some hope for legalizing it, as it's becoming more and more legal in various states these days. New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California all have lenient laws.

well, maybe the hospitals could just use extracted thc that's grown outside of the country, and use it on cancer patients. The high could be explained away as a side effect. damnit, if my grandmother had heard about this, she'd have been pissed. she wouldn't have had to suffer through all of that chemo if this had already been in the works.

"Well what about this:

If I had a valid form of a disability, I could go to the clinic a few streets away from my house, be consulted, then if I checked out, I could go next door with my prescription and talk to the receptionist, show them my prescription, then be led to the next room where I can choose my medicine."

legalizing for medicinal reasons is different than legalizing for recreational reasons. I just highly doubt they'll ever legalize it....they may decrim it someday though...decrim would make a lot of money for the gov't through fines and taxes instead of throwing them in jail where tax dollars are wasted...DECRIM MAKES CENTS :) :)

This is the Republican Party. They don't want you smoking weed. They also don't want you to play online poker or make end of life decisions. They're against equal rights, they appreciate torture, hate abortions and are for the death penalty. They want to spy on you, limit your rights, strip search your children and bomb the crap out of any country who's people are brown. They lie about tax payer funded scientific research. Cover-up, scheme and whitewash. If anyone thinks the republican party represents them, they're living in a fantasy world.

"I HIGHLY doubt marijuana will ever become legal. It would be wayyyy too hard for the government to regulate it. It would be amazing, but it probally won't ever happen. We have a better chance of getting it decrim'd. DECRIM MAKES CENTS!"
