Monday, February 15, 2010 4:55:59 PM I remember once in 2nd grade, there was a MASSIVE tumbleweed.. It was probably around 6 feet high and wide. Us being, you know, 2nd graders were amazed by the thing. The wind was blowing pretty hard and pushed it up over the fence, and it began hauling ass toward some of us. I got out of the way, but it took my friend and two other people out before it stopped it's rampage. Was funny to watch him get all the needles plucked out. |

Monday, February 15, 2010 8:59:27 AM I'm pretty sure this is in Antelope Acres, near Lancaster, CA and near my home. I've seen something like this, but not so huge, before. I've heard that tumbleweeds come from Russia but once they got started here, they spread rapidly. It's easy to see why. If I were six years old and watching this, that's exactly what my reaction would be. Those of you who don't like it, don't reproduce and you'll avoid this kind of annoyance and improve the gene pool. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 10:20:09 PM > moogs > Tumbleweeds, as far as I know, are just dried up bushes that dislocate from their roots and get blown around by the wind.Lol not quite but close. Like everything in nature, there is a purpose/design/whatever. The tumbleweeds retain their seeds - instead of throwing them onto the wind like some plants, they entire bush expands then dries out, rolls all over the prairie, dropping seeds as it does. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 8:36:42 PM A tumbleweed once rolled onto our playground at recess time in elementary... One boy left theplayground with a chipped tooth after everyone was wrestling for it. |
