Monday, February 15, 2010 9:28:33 AM It isnt really spinning either way the segments are just changing from red to white although our brains wiring makes us want to see movement (which could be in either direction) try it with 3 colours and it will only look like it is spinning one way.... 100 points pls |

Monday, February 15, 2010 7:30:14 AM It's just the phi phenomenon without any directional bias. |

Monday, February 15, 2010 2:52:12 AM Its caused by slow frame motion. our eyes take more frames per second then it delivers causing it to jerk. Because there are only 2 frames to this (metled together by our brains to make it appear spinning) then we can decide which way to view it. Staring at the centre causes an equal distance on all sides so you view it spinning one way, viewed in another way you see one side first meaning the brain makes an assumtion based on how close the lines are. It complicated to explain how the frame rate affects it. |

Monday, February 15, 2010 12:54:57 AM it goes in the direction i want it to go. i like the black silhouette of a girl better because it's 3d and has a more complex shape. much more mind boggling. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 11:11:53 PM You can force yourself to think it appears to spin either way. Unless you're a ditz |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 11:02:49 PM *newsflash* the stripes aren't spinning. It took me all of 300 milliseconds to realize that this is retarded. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 9:59:28 PM Depending on which angle(eye) you look at the image the shade of the red squares differentiates. Once angle goes clockwise with dark shade and other goes opposite with lighter tint. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 9:43:14 PM Look at the red dot again, and now close one eye, then alternate to the other. It should change direction.which has nothing to do with left right brain stuff. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 8:00:46 PM I found it seems to change direction easier if you look at the top half and change your view from the top left to the top right and visa-versa. |

Sunday, February 14, 2010 7:44:59 PM The red stripes aren't spinning at all. There are alternating red and white segments, but I don't see them moving, I just see them switching from red to white and back again. There isn't any movement, not even "phi" movement (look it up) |
