stuff like this makes me appreciate the good old fashioned way of doing things. not knocking the Photoshopping and such, but I prefer working with my hands and apparently punishing my wallet for ridiculously expensive art supplies any day, lol.

If anyone doubts this is real and hand-made... take a look at the making-of. No photoshop, no green screen, just pure awesomeness, lots of ink and patience! Touhou fandom is freaking amazing.

weird I saw this video but the images were simulated on an old gameboy, this is way better.

Touhou is awesome

the numbers are lined up exactly because they are printed in relation to each of the main pictures and will be used for reference. The position of the picture on the page changes, you ever tried printing out 4 pictures on a piece of A4 and got the margins exact?

Someone else has also posted this but it might be of interest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sib2L6A6x...

k10josumm: Either way, every-one of those images still had to be constructed by someone. All 6000+ of them... computer or not, it still had to be done! They probably did do it on paper (you can see the texture of the ink in some places) and used the numbered bitmap names to center the image so that the video would flow smoothly.

this is amazing. thus, i hate to be that guy that makes A of himself by saying something negative. but how can this be real? i mean, the tag (BA_XXXX.bmp) is pretty much perfectly layered the whole time while the papers are constantly changing. the paper will have too much on the left, but the tag remains in the exact same place. does anyone follow this AT ALL?

While I agree with the general sentiment that this is indeed 'shopped' (It looks like it could have been done with some kind of 'green screen' technique or something) I still totally dig the animation. Really clever and a nice presentation.

Would have been even more amazing if anime didn't annoy the ever loving poo out of me.

I have to say... I don't like anime whatsoever, but in terms of stop motion, this was still pretty awesome.
