I'd need half a million of those to back up all my stuff.

I've never heard of 8 inch floppies
I've *seen* 5 1/2" floppies
I haven't used 1.44Mb floppies in years, my last 2 computers don't have floppy drives.
I haven't used a CD in a while either.
The last time I bought blank CDs was 5 years ago.

Ahh changing times, for the better! I like it.

After Y2K hit, and nothing much happened, a lot of people said we went to a lot of trouble and expense for nothing. It never occurred to them that the only reason nothing much happened was BECAUSE we went to a lot of trouble and expense to prepare for it.

BTW:

Y2K was not "not a problem", it was a problem that was solved with a lot of effort.

"Hell, I remember 5.25" floppies that were literally floppy!"

I've seen, but never used, the older 8 inch floppies. They only held like 80kb!

Me too. I could never figure out why hard disks started being called "floppy"

I call fake - it is an ordinary box of 3.5" floppy disks and someone printed a pretty label to put on the top of the box as a joke.
--------------------------------------------------

Wrong!

It's 100% legit! I worked for a company that sold those in 99.

Yes, nothing more innocent than the Columbine shooting (April 20, 1999).

I vaguely remember it, I was quite young, but I just remember groups of my friends crying about it, everyone panicking etc... What a load of bulls**t. I'm not even gonna get out of bed for 2012. Actually I might, there's probably some dumb girl I could persuade to have sex with me.

Of course, just as 2012 was, it was simply an easy way to make money.
