Wednesday, January 13, 2010 12:21:15 AM New Years 1999 they shut all the train lines down in Sydney from about 11pm till 3am in anticipation of Y2K screwing their computer system and the fear people would be stuck on trains and/or trains would suddenly start ignoring signals and drive themselves into each other etc (planes were also going to fall out of the sky and traffic lights would start blinking and so on)..... the only close to Y2K that affected me was getting so blind drunk by 10pm I can't remember anything till about 3am when we caught the train home! Missed the whole effing thing! |

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 11:37:04 PM Wow... I feel old because I used a discette as late as three-four years ago for schoolwork. Word doc's don't take up much space, the reason I quit using them was because the computers at my school were "upgraded" and no longer diskette-compatible. |

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 8:44:07 PM What would we have done without the diskette? All five of those word files that fit on one might have perished miserably. |
