Monday, December 21, 2009 10:32:50 AM I think it's interesting that everyone thinks it's just the woman who wants the big ring. Guy have all sorts of ways to mark their territory. |

Sunday, December 20, 2009 3:36:51 PM I'm sure that's not how she meant it. Though she should have thought about what she was going to say a little bit more. haha. |

Sunday, December 20, 2009 1:59:23 PM I agree with you punkipenguin. My fiance' proposed to me last year and it was only about $80 but it was special to me. Our birthstones with our nicknames engraved on them. It was sweet and thoughtful and showed he cared. I knew he was going to be proposing because I actually helped pick put the ring haha. I love the ring but as i'm not a big jewelry person i don't wear it 24/7 so it would've been a waste of money for him or any guy to buy me a $1,000 ring anyways. If that makes me "white trash" so be it. Money is best saved for other things. |

Sunday, December 20, 2009 1:14:05 PM I Agree with VodooShaman:You absolutely RULE, Punkiepenguin! My fiance feels the same way. We got our engagement rings at the mall; .925 silver bands. A great relationship means Waaay more than a big shiny rock that was most likely mined by the prisoners of African warlords. |

Sunday, December 20, 2009 9:39:57 AM i don't understand women sometimes. i got engaged a year and a half ago, i still don't have a ring. when we started looking for rings a few months ago, he was set on getting a big expensive one. i wanted a small solitaire. he gave in but he still wanted to go to a jewelry store. i drug him to wal-mart, $200 for the same ring that cost between $650 and $799 everywhere else. he's been warned that if he gets one that better be it or i'm beating him. it's insane to pay that kind of money. sad thing is i've been called everything from stupid to white trash by every girl i've told that tidbit to. funny how none of them are engaged, or even in a serious relationship. ha. |
