Friday, January 08, 2010 7:37:46 PM To whichever got the CO2 mess started Carbon Dioxide is the waste produced when we exhale and plants make use of it. The big bad no no gases causing global warming and greenhouse gas effects is carbon MONOxide everyone, go back to seventh grade and ask your science teachers ;P |

Sunday, December 20, 2009 6:18:28 AM Thanks Angillion. It's a shame that so many people have such strong opinions about global warming but are complete retards at the same time. I remember the days when scientists were respected but now every second dickhead is taking a random scientific fact and pretended to be educated. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 11:42:14 PM Isn't CO2 Carbon Dioxide? What we breathe out and what plants absorb to turn into oxygen so we can survive?
The fact that it's necessary in smaller quantities does not make it harmless in larger quantities. Your argument is silly. There are many things for which both too little and too much are dangerous. CO2 plays a role in regulating how much heat the Earth gets and retains from the Sun. It should be obvious to anyone that this means there is an optimum range. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 11:36:09 PM What happened to global "cooling" from the 70's? Did that happen? No. It's a fad.
Global cooling in the 1970s was a brief media fad stemming from a few comments about ice age cycles. Global warming today is a consensus from relevant scientists stemming from millions of pieces of data. When you pretend it's the same thing, you are just showing your total lack of understanding. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 9:56:22 PM Also, for all you people who think Global warming is fake, I suggest watching "An Inconvinent Truth" Although slightly exagerated, the facts remain that this IS a problem. And by the time we see it's effects, it will be too late. We live in a society where we look for quick fixes. There is no quick fix for this. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 9:50:07 PM Okay, here we go. This summer, I took a class on earths changing climate, and every result that I have seen is that the climate is going to change drasticly. This is not from the CO2 that we breath and that plants absorb, it if from the CO2 in the upper atmosphere, which is trapping more energy from the sun. We aren't heating up more during the day, but we are not cooling down as much as we used to during the night. This is causing problems. Now, even if the entire north pole melted, the sea level would only rise a few inches, because the north pole is already floating. if anyone takes an icecube, puts it in a glass, and waits, once the cube melts, the level will be similar. We are still in bad shape though, for withut all that ice reflecting sunlight, we will only heat up faster. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 9:45:49 PM Global "warming" is propaganda incited by radicalists. It is a myth. What happened to global "cooling" from the 70's? Did that happen? No. It's a fad. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 9:10:14 PM Global warming is a hoax. It's just a scam to swindle the US out of $trillions so liberal academics and politicians can fly around in private jets and prop up a bunch of socialist 3rd-world dictators while we all drive around in little tin-foil deathtraps and light our houses with flimsy tubes of toxic mercury. Go ahead and live like a bunch of Africans if you want. I'm switching my electronic transmission control from "economy" to "performance." |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 5:30:05 PM lol humans in general only produce approximately 5% of the worlds greenhouse gases, its nature foing what its supposed to do
Obvously, that 5% isn't nature. Humans are also very quickly removing natural greenhouse gas capturing mechanisms. Which also isn't natural, obviously. why you think scientists believe the dinosaurs lived in a co2 heated atmosphere?
Because there is evidence that they did. There is no evidence that the climate change was as rapid then as it is now, and that's the main concern. in fact that would also make crops flourish
While destroying most or all of human civilisation. Not a good trade-off in my opinion. Humans do affect the environment. Recently, a lot more than before. It might be enough to disrupt natural balances and make Earth much less habitable to humans. There is genuine cause for concern. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 5:24:06 PM Angilion is right - cow farts are a massive contributor to greenhouse gases.
Surprisingly, it's more from burping than farting. Cows belch a lot. Not just cows - it's basically all ruminants. Cows, oxen, sheep, elephants, etc. |
