Paying the doctor for being healthy is a very clever concept that may cut the costs of western health care systems by some good amount.
By this method doctors are realy motivated to care about the well-being of their patients. As it is now a doctor is (financially) best of with patients who are constantly ill, so curing them is not in his interest. |

Its funny living in NYC because it seems so obvious to me to think of blocks as 34th and 5th or something. Never even occurred to me that naming blocks makes sense too. |

Yeah, I've been trying to explain this to my Western friends in Dubai for years. We have street names, but we have a Japanese mentality. I've been laughing for years at my western friends trying to tell the pizza delivery guy directions by talking about street names. "FFS! It's street 17C, house 11!!!! FFS!!!"

"STFU! I'm explaining! HE doesn't get it!"
"Pass... Hello, do you know the Manchester Clinic? Yup? Same street, house number 11. Thanks. You too." |

I don't know about that, since numbering the streets consecutively makes it easy to figure out which way you need to go. If this is 34th street, go toward 33rd street and 32nd street will be the one after that. Not sure how I would find a particular block in Japan unless they all happen to be numbered consecutively in a systematic way, rather than in chronological order, since a visitor could never know the chronology. |

Interesting! Japanese way makes a lot of sense but I bet it takes a lot of time for foreigners/tourists to get used to it. Either way, I'm bad with directions. @_@ |

If you come to my town and I tell you to go to North Joseph street will you know which way to go?Yeah, you take Street A, all the way until you reach a 7-11, thats North Joseph The stupid way will, you pass block 1, then 3, then 14, you reach a 7-11, thats block 2. |
