Friday, December 11, 2009 3:17:44 AM It is so f-cking weird to hear people say they were born in the year 2000 and not know things I knew at age ten. Ahhh! I'm an antique!Oh, my, god, the dial-up sound..... so loud! Heh... "Bloody Mary's just a drink." |

Thursday, December 10, 2009 12:22:16 PM this was pretty awesome..i definitely don't miss dial-up but i had that noise memorized when i was young..its ok they don't know napster, torrents are better anyway.. I wish everyone saying these kids are stupid the best of luck with their future life. These kids are 9, thats a lot younger than you think. I've got a 10 year old brother and it amazes me with how little he knows. Seriously what did these kids say that was stupid? |

Thursday, December 10, 2009 11:50:44 AM we got our first computer when i was like 4, and all i did on it was play doom. We didn't get AOL until I was 7. When I was a kid we spent most of our time outside riding bikes and exploring the woods by my house. Kids these days are lazy and spoiled. I didn't get a phone until I was 16 and had a job. I didn't get a ipod until I was 19. And I miss my walkman |

Thursday, December 10, 2009 12:54:07 AM Holy poo. Okay, my first gripe, did you notice there was only like two white kids? I know this is America and were all accepting, but I'm just not used to seeing a whole AMERICAN classroom that's not filled with mostly white kids.SECOND! About global warming, one kid said something about the "4 R'S" Then went on to say "Reuse.. Um.. I forgot the other two." Okay, buddy. 1+2 DOES NOT equal 4. Our schools suck! |

Wednesday, December 09, 2009 10:03:38 PM These kids were born during the computer age, and they can all very well read by this age, I'm surprised that they don't know more at this point. Spend an hour on Wikipedia and you may have soaked up the equivalent of 4 hours of old-school library encyclopedia time, let alone youtube and all that other rubbish. The fact that they have cellphones and iPods is also not a very soothing thought, what to they need their own music for when there's perfectly fine radio to be listened to... Kids these days... |

Wednesday, December 09, 2009 9:47:06 PM You'd get better answers from a classroom of white kids. |

Wednesday, December 09, 2009 8:59:07 PM OK - I had to do it. I asked my 5-year-old some of these questions. Here is what he said:Who is Barack Obama? He is the president. (My kid didn't say anything about being the first black president, just "the president") What was the biggest news story of your lifetime? When Michael Phelps won all the gold medals. Who is the biggest celebrity in the world? Spongebob. No, real person, not a cartoon. Oh. Barack Obama. Are you saying that because I just asked about him? Yes. What is your biggest fear? A Great White Shark |

Wednesday, December 09, 2009 8:30:33 PM Well, I think it comes as no surprise to anyone that kids these days have no recognition of Britney Spears' music. Did anyone really think she would pass the test of time? And yet, my 5-year-old kid can name all four Beatles, all six of the Grateful Dead (during the Brent Mydland years), and knows Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley on sight. We are working on Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, the Doors, and whatever else I think he should be into. Don't worry, he has no idea who the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus are. Because, in 4 years, NOBODY will know who they are. Can't wait to show him Grandpa's vinyl records. |
