Sunday, December 06, 2009 1:10:09 PM the secret is that all the diamonds are the same color with progressive shading as it gets closer to the bottom. This way each row appears darker than the lower one because of the contrast.its fun being smart :D |

Sunday, December 06, 2009 1:40:47 AM I think it has to do with the contrast of the white parts at the top. Either that or really quick marker skills. Like ninjas/2nd graders. |

I was waiting for him to rotate the moving diamond and have it fit in upside down. That would be an illusion."Couldn't have said it better myself. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 9:57:53 PM It's just because the contrasting at the top and bottom and the fading in the individual diamonds.still cool though, before you look closely. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 2:15:45 PM There;s no crazy trick to how this is done, he's not "cheating." it's just the way the human eye interprets these things. print out that sheet and try it yourself! this is similar to a ton of others out there one the net. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 1:11:07 PM Actually Silver they're not. The mind trick is the illusion that no matter what shade he moves it too, the loose diamond always seems to match. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 12:25:18 PM Meh, the individual diamonds are several shades darker on the bottom. If he were to turn the loose one upside down, this would quickly become apparent. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 11:42:34 AM These things f with my head! the diamond has a fade from light to dark grey, the retinas can pick the colour of the diamonds but get fd up when the dark mixes with the white so it trys to separate the colours by making them more distinguished! thus the dark gray looks darken when placed next to the white! And thus your brain hurts! |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 8:28:08 AM Those diamonds are slightly darker at the bottom and slightly brighter at the top, as to heighten the contrast at the ends. |

Saturday, December 05, 2009 8:22:23 AM The science is that we have contrast-based vision. It helps that all the diamonds are darker at the bottom than at the top. |
