Monday, November 23, 2009 9:17:35 AM I drink only local milk, not only because it tastes better but there is usually a bunch of nasty poo in the other milk. |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 10:38:44 AM Reminds me of that Tauren joke from world of warcraft. "Homogenized? No way, I like the ladies." For those who don't know, the tauren are basically giant cows. |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 5:41:26 AM In Canada, "homo milk" or "homogenized milk" is also "whole milk" or 3.25% fat content milk. |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 12:28:45 AM Here is how it happened."Hey Jack, I have an idea that can make our brand huge!" "Whats that Bill? We've tried everything, and we still fall behind store brands." "Well, have you heard that statistic that 10% of people are gay?" "Uh yeah, where are you going with this?" "Well, lets have a play on the word homogenization, and say that our milk tastes like homo, it will become the hot item in the gay community!" "You're retarded. Petty appeasement will more likely piss them off, it will bring the fundies against us, and on top of that-" "I'm your boss. We're doing it." "Why even have a marketing department if you refuse to listen to it." "Good point, you're fired." "But I have 4 kids, and my wife has cancer." "Drink some milk, I hear that can cheer you up." |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 12:22:52 AM On the topic of marketing, has anyone tried to market milk in these containers in the USA, where it doesn't have the same meaning? You'd sure get a lot of free advertising that way. |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 12:20:53 AM Tastes like? So it isn't even homogenized, but just "tastes" that way? It's so good you won't even taste how bad it is!
To be accurate, it *is* homogenised, i.e. it's the same consistency throughout. It's just that 'homogenised milk' has come to mean 'full fat milk' in some places, despite having a completely different meaning. So what they really mean is that this is skimmed milk that they claim tastes like full-fat milk. Although it won't. |

Saturday, November 21, 2009 12:17:10 AM Um... Is that a human's milk?
No, it's a misleading shortening of a word. 'homo' does indeed mean 'human' (e.g. homo sapiens), but in this case it's a shortening of a compound word in which one root is 'homos', meaning 'same', rather than 'homo'. It refers to milk of the same consistency throughout. If milk is just left alone, it will be thicker towards the top. 'homos' is usually shortened to 'homo' in English compound words using it as a root, simply to smooth out pronunciation. So, for example, 'homonym' instead of 'homosnym' or 'homosexual' instead of 'homossexual'. |

Friday, November 20, 2009 6:28:10 PM I'm pretty sure they wrote "Tastes like Homo" because they couldn't spell (or pronounce) "homogenized"..... |
