Actually, all three holidays Last_Ninja listed are bastardised forms of various pagan holidays which originated in Britain. All the Christians did was paste their mythology over a pre-existing one. But, hey, what do you expect from a god who's actually a surreal mixture of about five judaeo-pagan deities.On a lighter note, I find this picture very amusing. |

halloween was brought here from the Irish, during the potato phamon. In there land the time of fall was a sign of death and they thought that the dead had extra powers during this time. so they would put out skulls not jackolanterns and they would dress up "like the dead" to fool them. It is a pagan thing, but on that note for pagans it has to do with the change of the seasons the period of death "fall". more then fooling the dead. |

actually, halloween is one of several pagan holidays, easter and christmas are about the same time as some of them. in itself, it's not really that pagan-y |
