Norton does next to nothing anyway, it can't do anything with the viruses it detects, just tells you to pay to get better updates, which are also crap. Better freeware exists. |

Kapersky, Antivir, and NOD32 ftw.I'll stick with my nod32. Honestly though, I don't even need that. I was on the internet until 2 years ago with absolutely no protection and never got a virus; I scanned every so often with free scanners (like avg and avast), then used spybot and ad-aware plus just to check for spyware every so often.
I've only gotten one virus in my life, and it was completely my fault. |

Noron's AV is the biggest racket ever.
There are free ones that are better.
AV as a business is similar to the mafia "protection" racket, where you pay them every month so they don't break your legs. Somehow, it's legal one way, against the law the other. Hmm? |

AV software is far from useless. I also cross-check with process explorer, but a decent AV will catch almost everything before it becomes a problem. You'll only find it in process explorer when it is already active...and how often do you check process explorer? |
