it's because the pencil is orange and the paper is blue. Orange is the complimentary color of blue. |

This is also how you can save money in printing ads, by simply using one color and splitting it into groups of its different shades.Technically, you only chose one color, so you only pay for one color. Thank you into to journalism. |

It's called "Corn-Sweet Edge" All you do is make one row a single shade lighter and the one next to it a single shade darker and your brain interprets the transition and just assumes the whole section is lighter/darker. Still cool, though! |
