Preheat oven to 350 deg.
Grease cookie tin with thin layer of olive oil
spread washed and de-gooked pumpkin seeds from large
pumpkin in single layer on cookie tin.
sprinkle to taste with garlic salt.
Put in oven for 45 min.
Good eatin' (as long as thoughts of pumpkin goatse
don't enter your mind).

How did this turn from a gross picture to a delicious pumpkin-loving thread? Oh well...
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter
4 egs
1/2 cup water
1 cup steamed & mashed pumpkin....or pumpkin pie filling from the store
1 cup chocolate chips {1 do 1 1/2 !!! }
2 sbs chopped pecans
2 tsp sugar
Oven at 350. greas bottom only on pan
Mix it all together except 2 tsp sugar
Pour in pan... sprinkle 2 tsp sugar on top
bake 1 hour to 1 hr 15 min

Well, I've never eaten pumpkin pie - I don't like pie - but I've had pumpkin seeds and they are delicious! Way better than sunflower seeds or pinon.
Pumpkin cookies and chips are pretty good, too, and I've heard that baked mini pumpkins are good.
It tastes like... well, pumpkin. It's not bitter like grass is, it's squash-y and it tastes a tiny bit like a sweet potato. Pumpkin pie probably tastes more like cinnamon and spices, and pumpkin cookies are usually sweeter than normal pumpkin and pumpkin chips. I'm not completely sure how else to describe it, but it's good. If you get a chance you should have some!

1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine ingredients in large bowl, pour into shell, bake 15 minutes, reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking 35-40 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean. |
