Monday, October 05, 2009 8:43:24 AM Actually Fizzlez, favourite is perfectly correct. It's the original english spelling, so in fact more correct than favorite. =] |

Sunday, October 04, 2009 8:57:04 PM Also, on-topic: "B-JAYS ARE MY FAVOURITE"Me too honey, me too. You took the words right out of your mouth. See what I did there? Feck, I hope someone figures it out - I have the vague sense that it's funny in an oral sex kinda way, but it's too obtuse for even me to figure out, and I made the joke. *phones a taxi and gets his coat* |

Sunday, October 04, 2009 5:00:39 PM Yeah, about a third of modern British English words and spellings as quoted in the Oxford English Dictionary were defined by an American in the 1850's (REF: The Surgeon at Broadmoor). For most of the history of the English language there has been no standardised spelling at all, you just wrote it how you felt it sounded. At the turn of the 19th century the Americans decided to simplify english and make it more phonetically correct as a lot of the spellings did not make sense (after all, those spellings had been defined by the opinions of just a few men who wrote the first dictionaries, from Dr Johnson onwards). Going to have to side with the septics on this one. |

Sunday, October 04, 2009 4:20:06 PM > tinyflames > Canadian and British people spell favourite with a 'U'. Along with colour, armour, etc.More correctly, EVERYONE except you silly Yanks spells it with a 'U' because it generally has a U in the base languages, such as 'couleur' in French. |
