The thing is, you're right. You're right about -this- political climate. It would just be to unpopular politically right now. After the election there would be no restrants from doing this. The opioin as to wether or not it would be nessacary is far more diverce then Swopes would have us belive. More then that, just because it would take two years to produce soldures dosn't mean the system isn't in place. Anyway. Don't call me Rag. |

Well, I don't know about that, groove. (Can I call you grove?) Just because there may not be activity (and are you sure there isn't activity) dosn't mean they still aren't considering it. Bush already has all the Draft Boards filled. Their in a state of operational readiness. And they have been for months now. More then that, the Draft talk has been ratching up lately. Senator Dumbface (I forgot his name, but he had a dumb face) spun it this way; "It's time we stop having war be fought only by the poor, and let the rich kids prove their worth," or some such bullpoo-o-o-o-o-p.

I'm almost completely sure that those two bills were killed a long time ago, since there hasn't been any activity with them since before the Iraq Invasion and Occupation. Also, those websites cited about the selected service do not show what the article claims they do. |
