I'm going to Racers and I'm sure I'll be calling to Jesus when I get there:

Jesus Christ did you see those boobies?
or,
Oh my GOD, look at that ass!

"most adverts in america dont even mention religion."

Have you ever been to the south? Come down here and tell me how many Jesus billboards you see.

Ok, so if I want to feast my eyes on Jesus a little more, where do I tuck the banknotes?

most adverts in america dont even mention religion. and besides, arent churches allowed to rent a billboard or two for advertisement, like everyone else?

You never hear church bells ringing on Sundays, as they have done ever since the Inquisition and the Holy wars? A legal jurisprudence based on swearing truth on the Bible? A Constitution setting out rights before God? More to the point, can you go to an airport over there without being jumped on by 20 hare krishnas and a dozen JW's?? If so I'm moving there!

The thing I like about this is that you could go to Racer's Saturday night, emerge bleary-eyed and light-pocketed Sunday morning, and make your way 2 miles up the road to attonement.

The only thing better would be if there was a Macca's or coffee house on the way.

My point is that if the majority decides what is on the billboards, society WOULD be imposing its religions views.

Glendower, you are right. People have the right to exercise their free speech by buying a billboard, but people also have the right to complain their asses off and boycott until it gets taken down.

Often times, what's seen as discrimination could be better described as capitalism.

Why did you have to make it a nationalistic thing... WHY!?

@supersmash,

That may be theoretically true, but a local atheist community here recently purchased ad space (the ad wasnt offensive in the least) but the local fanatics complained and it got taken down.

Sorry to have to do this, but you made me: If the Satan is Great Society wanted to buy an ad that said, "Jesus is a homo, he eats babies, and then feeds his puke to kittens" they could. It's called free speech, not "forcing it's religion upon you through advertising." If the Atheist of America wanted to buy an ad that said, "Jesus is a fictional character, praying to him is like praying to Cap'n Crunch" they could. Think before you type. It will save embarrassment.

My thoughts exactly hebsan (and welcome to IAB). In these environmentally-responsible days of reducing carbon emissions etc, it only makes sense to go to the closest one!

It's been a tough few years, trying to reduce, reuse and recycle.. I'm proud to say, I'm still sticking to those 3 golden rules...

I guess I'll be going to the racers tomorrow. You know, to save fuel.. ;)
