Thursday, August 13, 2009 2:07:36 AM Also (which I couldn't fit into my previous comment), SUV:s are sometimes too primitive in their safety structure, meaning that maybe you'll get lucky and not have the engine squashed up into the actual cabin, but then you'll just be giljoutined by the steering wheel axle.Besides, if you choose a bigger vehicle, simply because it feels safer, others might be intimidated to do the same thing, and you will have the same problem all over again, except the now-small car weighs over two tons. |

Thursday, August 13, 2009 2:03:31 AM >BostonKaiser Deary me... I have read your comment, and find no sign of sarcasm anywhere. Now that is just sad. A biggar vehicle IS more dangerous to the surrounding evironment, other motorists and pedestrians included. First, imagine getting a blow to your legs (which is usually the height of the hood of the car) so powerful that it crushes all your bones in them. It'll hurt like hell, you might even die. Second, imagine that same blow, with the same force, but now, as a wall, reaching to you forehead. Crushes everything. In the picture is further proof of this example, but with a vehicle. So does a bigger car, say an SUV, impose a bigger threat to humanity than a smaller car. The funny part is that many of the bigger, "i.e. safer cars", don't do nearly as well in crash tests as smaller ones. The reason: they are mostly built in the US, with wobbly and soft chassis that, when stressed, will succumb entirely. |

Wednesday, August 12, 2009 2:51:07 PM I have some doubt this is a SMART car. Checkout the car wheel under the red truck! I can't find any SMART car data that indicates they ever had a wheel of that design. |

Saturday, August 08, 2009 4:38:25 AM lol danthew strikes again with another witty comment full of intelligent goodness. This is obviously a mid-sized car but the car is not exactly the point here. I think the ambulance is a bit unnecessary since no one in the car could have survived and the guys in the trucks probably didn't feel anything more than a slight bump. |

Friday, August 07, 2009 5:40:13 PM I think Smart Cars have a 5-star crash rating. Doesn't mean they're not obnoxious. You can sense the self-satisfaction from a mile away. |

Friday, August 07, 2009 5:07:00 PM How does owning a bigger and thereby safer vehicle threaten other people? Please explain, if you can. |
