Monday, June 15, 2009 10:24:24 AM Something similar here in ohio, the lady known as the sheep lady. When developers came in she wouldnt sell her home and land. While the rest of the area became resturant and strip mall orientated. She ended up staying there until 2006 when she died and her family sold the land to developers of a condo community. They ended up calling the condo's Shepards Lane. |

Sunday, June 14, 2009 8:09:03 PM most of the times is because the developers dont offer enough the first time, which insults the owner making him/her even more stuborn |

Sunday, June 14, 2009 6:46:33 PM I used to work across the street from Edith's house in Ballard (seattle) wa. I watched them build those condos. She died shortly after they were finished building them. They kept offering her money to move, but she wouldnt. A co worker would mow her lawn every week during the summer, Kind of ironic, but i don't work there anymore because they tore the building i worked in down and the company moved. |

Sunday, June 14, 2009 5:21:57 PM Here in the UK, the government just abuses its powers and forces a sale. At the lowest valuation, completely ignoring the demand for the land. Lovely government we have here. |
