Wednesday, June 03, 2009 3:57:12 PM "#5 is an organic molecule with an amino-function and a acidic-function, making it an amino-acid. I think it's connected to DNA in a way." "First off guanine is a nitrogen base, and it looks like its either DNA or RNA. Probably DNA, though."ok, I have an exam on this tomorrow at half 1 so I hope I have it right :P That is Guanine, which is an organic base, a component of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid). It's complimentary pair in the double helix is Cytosine, and their bond consists of 3 hydrogen bonds, where as Adenine and Thymine (or Uracil in RNA) bond with only 2. Each step of the double helix 'ladder' shape is referred to as a nucleotide and is composed of an organic base, deoxyribose (ribose in RNA, a sugar) and a phosphate group. 3 bases in the DNA (or RNA) sequence form a condone (group of bases) which are used in protein synthesis to make an amino acid. Thanks for helping me revise :D |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 3:30:13 PM Unsexiest tattoos ever. Yo fancylad, you should really number the pictures so the posters can have an easier time discussing them. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 2:48:26 PM "Hey Harvey, what's that tattoo on your arm?" "It's Schrodinger's Cat." "Schrodinger's Cat?" "Yeah! It's a famous hypothetical quantum mechanics experiment in which- (ten minutes later) -and so therefore the cat is both alive and dead! Pretty cool, huh?" "Harvey, please stay away from my kids from now on." |

Woah, the Escher one is amazing. Good tattooist, too. I like the elemental table, too. Looks sharp. Handy in class, definitely. |
