I don't understand why gays and lesbians want to usurp the word "Marriage". I have nothing against civil-unions, But why do they feel the need to tear down "Straight" words, institutions, and traditions ?

In the end the Californian voters had their say, and now it's been upheld in court by a 6-1 overwhelming vote.

I feel upset because If they love each other what's wrong with them getting married my mom has gay friends who live happier lives than her straight married friends do

Nice job getting mad at a joke. Either way to answer your question.... nothing, but this isn't exactly a civil rights issue.

According to wikipedia, the amount of european nations that allow same sex marriage is actually quite low, but the majority of them do legally recognize same-sex relationships and unions.

Now marriage is a term that the gov't used from the Catholic Church, so if asked whether I support gay-marriage where by I'm defining marriage as the holy union between man and woman, then no.

Now for civil rights, recognized same-sex relationships are something completely different

So how many married gays do the woohoo with girls for babies? Marriage really means nothing. I don't want to get married to my girlfriend, I just want to be with her. I'll get her a ring if she wants but no ceremony. It's just a stupid bond for legal/fake religious reasons.
Still, with my point of 2 people of the same gender, it isn't going to make babies, *the point of existance IMO* so it has to be wrong. Lets all become gays! The human race wouldn't be around for much longer.
