This is a good idea in theory, but what if you get too drunk to pedal?? Also who steers? I must learn more about this fascinating concept.... lol :D
The bartender steers. And if you get too drunk to pedal, then you're dumped in a layby to sleep it off. Just like any good saturday night, really. |

Actually davymid, drugs are not legal in the Netherlands
I know (I've been living here for 7 years), but there's a 120-character limit on the link description, so I didn't have space to wax lyrical in the intricacies of Dutch drug laws. |

*continued*After the first Gulf War, I decided to visit Europe, ended up in Amsterdam, and ended up living there for six months. It was an eye-opening experience for me, and one of the greatest experiences of my life. The government here in the U.S. could learn some important lessons about the benefits of decriminalizing recreational drug use from the Netherlands. |

Actually davymid, drugs are not legal in the Netherlands, rather they are divided into two distinct groups, "hard" and "soft" drugs.Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin, and LSD are considered "hard" drugs, while Marijuana, Hash, and 'shrooms fall into the "soft" drug category. Both groups are not "legal" as it were, however, the Dutch government is very realistic as to the use of recreational drug usage and they are tolerated. As long as you're not openly buying or selling "hard" drugs in the street, you will be ignored as long as you don't do anything stupid. The "soft" drugs are tolerated even more so, and Marijuana and Hash can be openly purchased and used in the famous "coffee" shops, or in the privacy of your own home or hotel room. 'Shrooms can be openly purchased at "Smartshops". The "problems" when they occur, are usually caused by clueless American, British, and German tourists. |
