"It's an interesting question: should we tolerate a degree of tabloidisation in media - ie, the airing of 'baby ducks get saved' story when innocent people are dying in Rwanda, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Palestine, etc etc - if it's necessary for the financial perpetuation of news stations? "We hear about that a lot, actually. It's nice to hear some light-hearted news once in a while. |
