Almightybob-Wow, where to start…First, the Galactic Alignment is in reference to the affect it has on Earth not the Galactic Center. Second, according to your theory then what gravitational forces are holding the other billion stars in our galaxy? Why haven’t they flown off on their own? Third, I would take issue with the placement of our Sun in the Galactic Arm but I really don’t feel like argueing that with as it has nothing to do with what I was saying. My reference to the Sun within the Galactic Arm was to it location as seen from a side view, hence why I said thickness. So the X axis.

Davymid/BoredFjord/Et al-As you don’t seem to understand what the comment “ad hominem” means and you like to be a stickler for correctness, Ad Hominem literally translates to “to hominem” or “to man”.

From Wikipedia- “ An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the man", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the source making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim.
The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject. “

So there has been no disparity in my posts.

Davymid-To answer your statement, "....I don't hear many facts from you at all..." that would be because I have not heard any facts presented to counter my arguement! What I have heard is for me to be called, "Troll”, “that I wear a tin foil hat”, “lol u lose at life, science, concept of time and OMFG! YOUR OVER 40 AND ON TER INTERNETS”, “crazy”, “idiot”,”, and my personal favorites “childish” and “annoying”. Yet nothing from the moderator about these people, right? So I’m supposed to just shut up and allow them to say anything they want to me? No comment about how I responded to Yellowsquare, which was civil. The Talking Monkey comment was directed only to Topper and Sugarman. The Meat Puppet describes anyone praising the narcistic Professor who presented absolutely zero in factual relavance to substatiate his claim. Ergo, anyone taking offense is a Meat Puppet! My proof i

I love this website, the banter that goes on in these comment pages is usually funnier than the posts themselves!

maddog, you're just babbling nonsensical pseudoscience.

Here is a picture of the Milky Way, with our position marked.

Now the miniscule change that any particular orbit of Earth brings about in this system will clearly make roughly bugger-all difference to anything.

Do you have any idea how quickly gravitational forces decay with distance? Even the Alpha Centauri star system exerts negligible gravitational pull on us, and it's only 4 and a bit light years away.

p.s. addition to last point: I did not "choose to throw in" the fact that I have a PhD. It was a deliberate retort to your direct accusation and singling out of me as being "too dense to understand". Seemed relevant to the accusation.

As in the window dances all around your screen so you can't X out of it. There's also one just like that, which goes through the entire song in message boxes before given the opportunity to X out -- if you press OK too many times and miss the last one, you're f*cked and have to start all over again (I'm sure you've seen it before).

I actually thought that was the one you linked (and good thing it wasn't).

“If you’re going to argue back it up with facts!” Which I have done every single time! You chose to ignore that very large point and throw in that you’re a PHD in Science. What? What college offers a PHD in Science? One would say I have a PHD in Physics or a PHD in Microbiology but a PHD in Science!

Maddog, I don't hear many facts from you at all, I hear a lot of vitriol, flaming of other users, and trolling. Almost every post you've made has been insulting, from "Meat Puppets!!" to "Talking Monkeys!", to suggesting others stick to playing videogames, to insinuating that I'm lying about my qualifications (my PhD is in Geophysics (a science) from the University of Aberdeen in the UK).

Let's cut down on the flames and keep it civil.

p.s. Vorpal, as Peloos said, browser hijackers are not cool. Anyways, let's move on...

A regular rickroll would have been (barely) okay. Also, an old school duckroll, a Barry-ManiRoll, a picture saying "you're a retard" -- actually, any humorous picture -- or, you know, an actual Nigerian scam site...

All of those things would have worked fine.

Vorpal -- drat off with that poo, thanks. Now you're just starting to troll. Rickrolls stopped being funny 3 years ago.

@maddog3n: Let go, davymid is just doing his 'job' here. I have read your previous posts, and to honest, they appear hell bent to make argument and offense. Having your nose outa joint cause a moderator reigns you in, is rather childish.
Plus your starting to annoy.

maddog - you're right and wrong. I have the wrong guy, but no, it's not Cramer I'm thinking of. It's this guy.

I've seen DeGrasse speak somewhere before and my brain's being racist and mixing them up.

"Yeah, come on guys. This is the man who has figuring out how to travel through time practically on his door step. Let's not take anything this kook says seriously or anything!"

and there is the proof.
he has actually unlocked the secret of time travel, and a future version of himself sent information back to tell him the dec. 21, 2012 stuff was bull. God I love reverse temporal engineering.

hey maddog3n, there is a nigerian prince who will give you 60 million dollars if you give him your personal info to help pay a small 100,000 fee, you can use that money to fund your research
