LOL I like how the guy said he got kicked in the shoulder. Dude must be blind.I am gonna go with not justified. It doesn't matter if the guy deserved it or not. There is a reason we have trials. Police are supposed to apprehend suspects using no more violence than is necessary. |

F-em. Run from the cops and get kicked in the head. He's lucky that's all he got. You're right, they are the police and I expect them to be held to a higher standard, which I define for them as a citizen of my municipality. And I expect them to kick the douche in the head. |

Whether or not we would have done the same is irrelevant. Cops are supposed to be able to control themselves, and not attack people who have submitted themselves peacefully to be taken into custody. The criminal will pay for his running from police and putting the public at risk in court. It's not the policeman's job to punish the man. |

hmmmm i think not justified because he was admiting defeat. cop had an adreneline rush i guess.
th guy could have seriously injured someone in an accident though...
i say tazer him. then he wont sustain any injuries. and sue the government and get taxpayer money. |

I'm a cop in AZ, and I cringe every time I see this $h*t. Dude gave up, game over. I've been in chases, and I know the adrenaline gets pretty overwhelming, but the $h*tbag still has rights, and there is no such thing as a "free kick" just because he made them chase him.This kind of thing embarrasses me, and it makes my job a he11 of a lot harder in the future. Police in general have had to go a long way to try to be viewed as professionals, and knuckleheads like these (the officers) are setting us back 40 years. Oh, by the way. The idiot officer who threw that kick just made the a$$h*le gangbanger a millionaire. Nice. |

The criminal took the police on a probable high speed chase and even booked it after he got out of the car in hopes of escaping and forcing the police to exert extreme amounts of force and police power in order to catch him. They brought out the K9 unit, probably several different squad cars, and a good amount of police officers,all while endangering the community around them whilst trying to catch this man.Wouldn't you be pissed? When some kid steals my wallet and runs around my house breaking crap and disrespecting my property, and then gives up because he knows that I'm going to catch him, I don't just take my wallet and leave. I'm gonna beat the sh*t out of that kid. Despite what you guys may want from police officers, they're still human beings, and are going to act accordingly. |

Even though this man is a criminal and broke the law, he also surrendered when he realized he was done. So I think the kick was uncalled for, and undeserved. The criminal was on the ground with his hands over his head, it wasn't like he was going to get up in two seconds to hurt the cop in any way. And the second cop that came over and punched the hell out of the guy, that was also uncalled for. This makes me hate cops even more than I already do. |
