Thursday, May 07, 2009 6:56:42 AM Steve Wilson has got fat, Fear of a Blank Planet must have sold really well... And the cop's an idiot, no surprise there. |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 5:49:29 AM @BlankTomOf course she was being self-centred; SHE WAS MAKING AN EMERGENCY CALL! I'd think she had every RIGHT to be thinking only of herself and the situation she was in with her father. What do you expect her to do, make small talk and ask the officer how his day was before saying "oh by the way, my father needs an ambulance. But enough about me, how are YOU doing?" |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 5:21:10 AM Her cursing should NOT have been his main concern. :/When someone needs an ambulance, you do NOT hesitate to transfer the call. Not one second. |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 4:27:11 AM I don't care if you are having a bad day. If something like THAT is your job you don't bring your problems to work and here is an example why. |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 4:02:20 AM I can't believe anyone assigned to take 911 calls would, for any reason, hang up on someone. It's a police station. If it is a chargeable offense to run your mouth off at them for no reason, keep them on the line long enough to do a trace. But this WAS for good reason. Actually, I'm suprised 911 response teams aren't used to "foul" language. 99.9% of callers are hardly CALM when they call, right?

Thursday, May 07, 2009 3:48:49 AM he shouldnt have ever thought responding that way was ok, she obviously was very worried and thought her father was going to die, the fact that the 911 opperator HUNG UP on someone calling with an emegency is horrible, he should be fired |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 1:53:23 AM What.a.doosh.I agree with the comments here where he shouldn't have let his emotion (or initial gut reaction to retaliate verbally) get the best of him. If this happened to me and something bad happened to my dad, I am so going to haunt his life forever. |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 1:12:12 AM I'm customer service and take a lot of phone calls every day. Maybe the cop was having a bad, I know I've reacted like that on the phone when somebody curses at me. However, this is a life and death situation, the cop should have been more helpful. On the other hand, the girl should have calmed down and explained what was going on. FYI, I have called 911 while a good friend of mine was having a seizure, but I tried to keep a cool head and gave them the address and explained what was going on. That said, I hope the cop gets his pants sued off, he's an adult and a veteran cop....He could have handled that waaaaaaay better. |

Thursday, May 07, 2009 12:00:24 AM Crisis call people are usually trained to be able to calm people down, Hanging up is NOT one of the ways to calm someone down. Anyone can have a 'Bad Day', But being a trained crisis call person means you have to set all that aside and manage the call. Fired for it ? NO.. Suspended ? YES.. Re-Trained ? Definate YES! |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 11:51:32 PM "@ je_screamI can guatan-drating-tee you wouldn't act rationally when presented with the same situation if it were your dad, stfu." QFT. Let's give YOUR father a seizure and let YOU call 911 and deal with an incompetent non-nice individual cop who thinks it's more important to correct your profanity than to get you a drating ambulance. |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 10:50:18 PM First of all, the video stated that the call is being recorded even before the officer picks up. So she said the f word like she was saying, "holy sh@t, what do I do?", after her call wasn't even answered the first time. What was the cop doing that he didn't answer the call? Secondly, who the hell does he think he is telling her she CAN'T have an ambulance. In twenty years on the force he's never heard someone swearing in panic? All thos merits don't mean crap if your actions lead to the death of a citizen. I think it was the merits that gave him his sense of Supercop, thereby making him a crappy cop. I think that pay he's getting taken should go to the dad. Maybe he shouldn't be fired, but a demotion and bared from working the 911 phones ever again woudl be a good idea. Anyone who thinks she was wrong at all is an arogant moron. |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 10:48:57 PM Pff, come on, the girl's seventeen and was in a panic state. You know who's supposed to stay calm and get the information? Yeah, the officer! Telling her she's not getting an ambulance because she swore is effing MEAN. |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 10:41:26 PM The girl went about the wrong way; she was so focused on trying to one up the cop that she didn't even say 'hey, my dad's having a friggen seizure!' she just kept making catty snaps instead of just taking a quick breath and calmly tell the man what happened. That's what's wrong with society, people are so quick to get angry they forget what they're really angered about. Damn shame. |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 10:28:03 PM Wow, what a douche. Does he seriously think that EVERY person that calls 911 is going to use polite language? I mean come on, her father could have DIED and he wants to argue with her because she dropped a few F-bombs (and he also cussed at her so I don't think he has much of a problem using cuss words). He's suppose to calm her down, not make her even more frantic. I don't think a 2-week suspension is a fair consequence. He was RISKING a man's LIFE, I think he deserves something harsher because of that. I hope they sued him for everything he had. |
