I don't like these interviewers. They're sort of condescending.She has a very nice voice. A very good sense of pitch and dictation. It makes me happy she's so recognized. A diamond in the rough. :) |

Please tell me I'm not the only who thinks she wasn't really amazing? Not that she's got a bad voice, she doesn't, but it's pretty mediocre, not really something to write home about. |

I heard her sing she is amazing,
however I was watching something last night and they said the Britan's got talent went and recruited her for the show, so they already knew she could sing very well |

Her looks are not the main reason this is happening. It's also because of how she acted when she first came on the stage. Her manerisms were those of someone who is probably a bit odd. The reason it's such a big deal is becasue the show, as I'm sure most of you know, is a cross between praising people who are good, but also taking the wee out of people who are rather odd.
So they were all ready to make a joke of her and the joke ended up being on them. I hope she does really well, because people who don't really fit in never get a chance in "the biz" anymore. I hope she has a really great time and enjoys the glamour of it all before she goes back doing Karaoke at her local pub! |

Big deal. Some ugly woman can sing opera, that suddenly makes her the best person in the world does it? Charlotte Chruch can sing opera, and I sure know who I'd rather watch a video of...That said, I'm sure a radio show would suit her perfectly. |

She'd BETTER win!If she did win, all she'd need is a new hairstyle, a bit of a makeover make-up wise and her eyebrows styled and she'd be a mega hit! But then I can see her being in Les Mis or other musicals :) |

@FluffyOrchid - I totally agree. While I think she's a very talented singer and I am happy for her getting to live her dream of singing for the world, I can't help but feel like it's all for the wrong reasons. Everyone who talks about her always makes sure to mention how much they expected her to fail based on their first glimpse which is completely ridiculous. Physical beauty and musical beauty have absolutely nothing to do with eachother. |

It's really upsetting that all the news coverage of her performance isn't of congratulations so much as recognizing the fact that everyone was blown away by her voice when all they were preoccupied with was what she looks like. It's always been this way, it'll always be this way, but the media doesn't need to come out and say what everybody was thinking, and try to make it seem like a human interest piece on foreign popularity in America. That's bullsh*t. |
