Monday, May 04, 2009 9:43:43 AM its really simple, as long as science doesnt explain everything. they cant say with 100% certainty god doesnt exist.Personally, i dunno wheter there is a god or not, but if there is... he wont be using a simple binary reward/punishment system. (good/bad heaven/hell that sort of thing.) |

Thursday, April 23, 2009 11:54:23 AM >ThatWasFunny You do have a point. Is it superfluous to add that I do believe that God exists? |

Thursday, April 16, 2009 2:13:37 AM "i wish people would stop saying "god exists" and just say "i belive god exists". no one is going to change anyones mind by insisting. "And I wish people would stop saying "god doesn't exist" and just say "I do not believe god exists," But that's not going to happen, is it now? |

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 10:28:05 AM and i see some christianity comments like, the religion gives them, in this life, a search for purpose in the life after this onereally, the way you strive to live isnt any different than a good person without religion choosing to just treat others the way they wish to be treated. you just believe you'll get rewarded for it, or something. |

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 10:24:09 AM why is there only one certain religion. is it a competition? just watch every one of them be wrong, and something much bigger than the books we have be the 'right answer'.at least, that would be something cool.... |

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 7:27:05 PM why couldnt the new question we discuss for centuries just be "who cares?" |

Monday, April 13, 2009 8:08:20 PM 1) He published a book, but it doesn't seem to have undergone any peer review.2) Even in the off chance that he proved A god exists doesn't mean that he proved that THE CHRISTIAN god exists. This seems like a rather huge leap. |

Monday, April 13, 2009 6:45:54 PM "sTuFFt... the original purpose was and is mating, sex! All animals and living things mate to get the best genes and the lesser genes will eventually fall out. That's evolution.. that's life! man has just gotten to smart and is looking for a deeper meaning, which is not present"Well then, who said that was our purpose. "Well if you feel you ahve a purpose in life believing in a God that has not a single shred of evidence for existing, what would change if said god was proven to not exist? You life would still be exactly the same, your beliefs aside. And besides, even if he does exist, what meaning does that give to your life? Servitude?" Well hell, if I knew what the Meaning of Life was, I'd be a damn gajillionaire. I don't know what He has in store for me.

Monday, April 13, 2009 5:58:46 PM " Monday, April 13, 2009 3:32:39 PM AH, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAA!!!In every single atheism vs theism argument I've seen, atheists are always saying, "Show me scientific proof!" Now that this guy thinks he's found that proof, some CHRISTIANS are saying, "Nuh-uh! That doesn't count!"" NOT TRUE! Many people have been in here asking to SEE THE PROOF. One of the cornerstones of science is that a theory must be subject to peer review, so let him publish his work and let his peers review his math and his equations and go from there. |

Monday, April 13, 2009 5:42:28 PM Sorry, I misspelled "Tipler" (and the book is on the bookcase right next to me).I really should throw it away as everybody (who believes) knows God created Man, and not vice versa as Tipler believes. |

Monday, April 13, 2009 5:31:29 PM Tippler's 1994 book, "The Physics of Immortality", requires God to be created by seeding the entire universe with artificial intelligence (each with a complete map of a different persons mind), causing the universe to collapse in an artificial manner (which essentially creates perpetual energy), and all the AI's merge into one, becoming what he calls "God". His "God" then has the omnipotence to cause "Himself" to have existed for all of eternity. He is regarded as a quack by his peers. IMHO belief in God is a matter of faith and (rightly) defies scientific proof--God asks for faith, not proof. |

Monday, April 13, 2009 4:43:44 PM ...According to what this guy actually SAID, he didn't PROVE the existence of God. He said it's POSSIBLE for God to exist, and claimed that possibility=certainty. So, basically: HE IS A COMPLETE IDIOT, whether his theories work or not (and I doubt they do).Idiot or idiot savant, your choice. Certainly not any sort of intelligent. |

Monday, April 13, 2009 3:47:19 PM "So basically the guy draws a bunch of graphs and numbers on the board and then writes "THEREFORE GOD EXISTS". From what I could see, everything on the board was just basic geometry and physics, nothing involving theology. But the newscaster apparently thinks math is too complicated for people who watch TV news, so maybe he's on to something. I kind of doubt it though." |

Monday, April 13, 2009 3:12:30 PM Even the Bible says that this world is all meaningless, and it is. Christians live by the word of God to obtain purpose in life after this one. People say this type of thing has implications for faith, but the Bible also states "Fool is the man that denies the existence of God". Therefore, faith isn't based on whether or not God exists. The truth is, God can fit anywhere, in any theory. He is the director of science, and time, if you do believe he exists. So, he also can never be disproved. |
