wouldn't it be hilarious if something caught on fire and they tried to drench it over the faucet?

I remember hearing somewhere that the Nazis did experiments like injecting gasoline straight into the bloodstream. Brought it to mind. Makes me feel disgusted.

Seconding Jaydeejj's question, I wanna know too.

"Um, I'm pretty sure they are talking about gas as in gasoline, as in what you put in your car. Even if it was gas as in the state of matter, that 'gas' could be heavier than air, thus it would not just float away."

to who ever said this:

If you're bored one day, take a glass of water and stir it fast enough until you see air bubbles. Then put the glass in the freezer for a day. When you take it out look at all the air (gas) trapped inside the ice. To make a long lecture short, water can dilute 20 cc of air per cubic inch. (or something close)

Yeah which dumbass said that? Water contains proper gassy gas in it. That's why if u drink boiled water it tastes flatter

And thats how fish breathe, they don't break down the h20, they used the oxygen that's "dissolved" in the water

What would happen if they tried to boil the water? Would that eliminate or ignite the gas?

Uhhhh...no. Gasoline (what we fill our cars with) is a liquid. Natural Gas is just that...a gas or vapor. Let me put it in terms you understand...when you fart, that smell is methane...a natural gas!

"If they're that scared, they should stop lighting it on fire...
and how did they figure out their water had gas in it anyway?"

Don't you randomly try to light YOUR water on fire? I thought all the cool kids did that.

Norsak, no, in order to continue burning there would need to be a supply of oxygen, and in the faucet there just isn't enough, so it would burn out right at the nozzle most likely. Plus there is a special pipe to keep gases from flowing through the system in either direction.

Wait.. isn't lighting the faucet water on fire the same way that people light their intestines on fire when they ignite farts? I mean, wouldn't it be damaging or something if the fire went back up through the pipes..?

if the pipes in your house were flamable, you wouldnt be worried of your house burning down?

I was just about to mention that, bit offputting but the water would be totally fine. You can even see the gas is above the tap when it goes on fire.

I was living the dream. I had the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, all days were warm sunshine, love and hugs. Then one day, the unthinkable happened... the toilet clogged! That fateful day my world turned upside down, my life became a grim nightmare, I lost all hope in humanity... I sank into a great depression and tried to suicide twice. Because, you know, this is the worst that could happen ever! *cries wildly*
