Monday, March 30, 2009 9:02:46 PM I had to make an account for this one.Wake the hell up and pay attention. This is only the latest installment of our liberties being taken away. Things aren't tasting a little Orwellian anymore, they reek of it because the Constitution is rotting. Taking our games, music, and software away is the least of our worries. Not convinced? Try looking up the GIVE Act. Infowars would be a good place to start. I'm starting to regret voting for this guy. |

Monday, March 30, 2009 1:44:21 AM See...S#it like this is why citizens MUST have guns. A Government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take it away. |

Sunday, March 29, 2009 5:34:43 PM And... You're surprised? Seriously, your rights are useless. If the government gives them, they can sure as hell take it away. |

We have more data protection and human right laws than America! The idea was floated then put foward to the ISP providers (monitering what is downloaded rather than whats on your acctual PC). It back fired badly on the ISPs! The UKs safe...for now! |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 6:29:16 AM So they're going to arrest us for bootleg music? Wow, so they cant win the war on drugs...or in the middle east...so now they turn to the music industry? Our prisons will be full of 21-29 yr olds who download music lol, no room for the murderers and rapists. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 6:08:19 AM Wooohooo! Massive political flame war which will make absolutely no difference to the world outside of IAB comment boards!!!!On a side note, I couldn't understand a thing the news reader was saying. I don't know what accent that is, but she needs a new voicebox. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 2:46:14 AM IDK, Obama has got a massive job on his hands. We can't just expect him to do everything perfectly. Everyone makes mistakes. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:32:06 PM And please, correct me. Not only does that help make my argument more factually correct, but it also makes sure at least one other person doesn't just accept facts from a single television outlet. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:26:39 PM I'm glad that this thread has gotten to six pages without 99% of people actually looking into what it's talking about. The ACTA Treaty has been in negotiations for the last two years. Notice that Obama has been president for two months (= 1/12 of two years). According to a leaked article released last November, ISPs will be required to comply more with copyright related searches, and searches will be permissible on international flights. Please note that the wording of the treaty isn't even finalized yet, and that Obama has had nothing to do with it as of yet. Also, we sort of have this "constitution" thing. Maybe you've heard of it. If anybody thinks the EU or Canada is better: The US, European Community, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the UAE, and Canada are all in negotiations for the ACTA act. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:21:47 PM It really doesn't, Abacab. I would love if we were ruled by imperialists, I would love if we acted like imperialists, and I would absolutely love to have an American Empire. But unfortunately it does not exist, it never has, and it never will. Anyone who claims it does in any way is either an idiot or insane. Or both. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 10:59:55 PM Sry for the tri-post. Finally, if you have your computer full of the most illegal crap you can imagine inside your house/appartment, whats to stop you from just wiping it clean? The police need a warrant to enter your premises. That should give you ample warning. If nothing else you could just pull out your hard drive and throw it out the window. |
