Tuesday, March 17, 2009 8:13:20 PM @ Boadicea (continued: *question. What I find most disturbing is that so many of your gender embrace these skewed perspectives without considering that maybe, just maybe, if enough women stopped buying into the bs your entire gender would be stronger and happier. Don't get me wrong; there are plenty of arrogant, shallow men out there that help to perpetuate the poisoned standard of artificial beauty. I am not one of those men, so don't bother being angry at me. I am not your enemy, nor am I here to belittle women. With all due respect there are plenty of other women belittling your gender by refusing to take responsibility for their own choices in life. Most guys that I know prefer substance over vanity, yet I don't know more than a handful of women that put the sum of their self worth above their appearance. It's not the men that are the problem; it's all of the women that succumb to blurred ideals regarding their own self worth. No one ever changed anything by giving in. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 8:08:50 PM (sorry for the multiple posts) ~Boadicea: "What a load of crap. It's as much the men's fault as women (if not more so). Why would women WANT to be starved half to death and dressed up like skanks? Because that's what "society" expects them to do. That's what men expect them to do. Otherwise they're 'fugly bitches who can't get laid' or prudes or any other disparaging words. But then of course when women achieve the unattainable standard of beauty (weighing 90 pounds or thereabouts) then they're dumb bitches or whores. Think about what's actually causing this horrible mindset instead of blaming the people who fall victim to it."Whoa! You snapped on me without even considering what I was saying. First of all I think it is Disgusting that other women and the media perpetuates this false sense of beauty. I think it is tragic to know that there are millions of truly breathtaking women that will never know it because of the standards that they accept without ques |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 7:23:28 PM ~Primetimekin: "She dumped you didn't she?"That actually made me lol. Nice. No, my fiance is intelligent enough to at least resist the bs that the media tries to program into women, and she loves me for seeing true beauty over the plastic kind that's so prevalent today. Natural beauty is everywhere and it doesn't require any corporate sponsorship to exist in all its glory. *** |

Monday, March 16, 2009 1:15:36 PM Well, Boadicea, it just goes to show that Ron White was right: You can't fix stupid. When an ignorant person "thinks" things through, they usually are still ignorant. It's okay, I accept you for who you are. Really.

Monday, March 16, 2009 12:51:51 PM Baalthazaq: Oh sorry, I actually didn't put that together, it didn't really occur to me that that was what you meant about the boyband thing. It seemed kind of out of left field. My bad there.I'm glad you don't personally objectify women and that your wife doesn't need makeup, but I'm not talking specifically about you. And I'm not blaming MEN themselves either. Whatever, I can't even begin to explain everything in under 1000 characters so I'm taking myself out of this. I surrender. Oh and Boredx12, some eyeliner and moisturizer doesn't exactly even the playing field, but I see what you're saying. |

Monday, March 16, 2009 12:25:34 PM Boad: I see what you mean, but the rise of "guyliner" and Nivea for men shows that capitalism is slowly abolishing sexism and realising that men are just as easy to exploit if they phrase it right XD |

Monday, March 16, 2009 10:03:32 AM Really Boa? You don't see the connection?I said: "Women are more concerned about looks than guys" You don't see how the hordes of women chasing after guys for their looks, and the absolute lack of men doing the same is an example of that? The only possible reasoning you can come up with is that I must have some in built need to "crap on women"? I'm fairly sure that's your personal insecurities rather than any reasonable analysis of anything I said. I get that you're annoyed at how society objectifies women, and it does, but I'm also tired of being blamed for it, or having "men" blamed. Women think men want something and have ran with it, but they are wrong. Hell, my wife doesn't even wear makeup. None. If anything, you could blame "society" for the types of girls men find attractive just as s. easily. Look at any of the old nude paintings compared to today's models. |

Monday, March 16, 2009 9:00:04 AM I'm not ignorantly blaming anything. Can you honestly tell me that society is set up to treat women as equals? Have you seen the countless commercials advertising makeup and creams to fight wrinkles and spots and any possible imperfection? Do you really think that girls can look at that and think "well all of that is silly and i won't buy into it"? No. Not when everywhere they look is something telling them that to be important or valued they have to look a certain way? They grow up with all of that ingrained, and once they're old enough to realize that it's not really fair, it's too late to get out. I don't leave the house without wearing mascara and I'm sure most women are the same.I'm not just blaming society without thinking it through, okay? And I don't really appreciate being told to go f#ck myself when I didn't attack anybody else in that way. I'm sorry you think I'm some dumbass, but you have to consider the entire picture when looking at the actions of ind |

Monday, March 16, 2009 8:42:16 AM Hey Boadicea, I'm saying this as a man, go f#ck yourself.I love how pseudo-intellectuals like you like to ignorantly blame "society" for the actions of the individual - instantly removing accountability and reason from the discussion and therefore making any intelligent arument to the contrary irrelevant.

Monday, March 16, 2009 4:52:02 AM I think most people here are missing something. They aren't scurrying to get into the building. They are trying to get away from the smoking car.But what I think is funny is the fact they not only are they all completely afraid of being burned by the overheated car, but none of them are scared enough to get out of the line. Poor little girls. All they needed in their life was some attention... Oh, and some hair gel, and some nail polish, and a complimenting toner... |
