What I find most disturbing is that so many of your gender embrace these skewed perspectives without considering that maybe, just maybe, if enough women stopped buying into the bs your entire gender would be stronger and happier. Don't get me wrong; there are plenty of arrogant, shallow men out there that help to perpetuate the poisoned standard of artificial beauty. I am not one of those men, so don't bother being angry at me. I am not your enemy, nor am I here to belittle women. With all due respect there are plenty of other women belittling your gender by refusing to take responsibility for their own choices in life. Most guys that I know prefer substance over vanity, yet I don't know more than a handful of women that put the sum of their self worth above their appearance. It's not the men that are the problem; it's all of the women that succumb to blurred ideals regarding their own self worth. No one ever changed anything by giving in. |

The only possible reasoning you can come up with is that I must have some in built need to "crap on women"? I'm fairly sure that's your personal insecurities rather than any reasonable analysis of anything I said. I get that you're annoyed at how society objectifies women, and it does, but I'm also tired of being blamed for it, or having "men" blamed. Women think men want something and have ran with it, but they are wrong. Hell, my wife doesn't even wear makeup. None. If anything, you could blame "society" for the types of girls men find attractive just as s. easily. Look at any of the old nude paintings compared to today's models. |

I'm not ignorantly blaming anything. Can you honestly tell me that society is set up to treat women as equals? Have you seen the countless commercials advertising makeup and creams to fight wrinkles and spots and any possible imperfection? Do you really think that girls can look at that and think "well all of that is silly and i won't buy into it"? No. Not when everywhere they look is something telling them that to be important or valued they have to look a certain way? They grow up with all of that ingrained, and once they're old enough to realize that it's not really fair, it's too late to get out. I think most people here are missing something. They aren't scurrying to get into the building. They are trying to get away from the smoking car.But what I think is funny is the fact they not only are they all completely afraid of being burned by the overheated car, but none of them are scared enough to get out of the line.
