Thursday, July 02, 2009 2:04:37 PM I am waiting for disc based formats to dissolve and everything move to all flash memory based. Imagine being able to store your entire movie collection in a little box the size of a pack of smokes. Or better yet to purchase the movie on a mini sd card and then only have to copy it over to your player which would contain a 5TB solid state hard drive. Yeah the future is going to rock big time. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 12:43:59 AM I remember going to the video rental store and they had a BetaMax section. Damn look at the picture of those kids in the Polaroid ad, looks like Dad just yelled at them and slapped the ice cream cones out of their hands before taking the pic. |

Monday, March 16, 2009 10:10:51 AM Esqueiro - I can boast about having the very first SNES from 1990, the one that came with Super Mario World and didn't have all the copy and cheat protection crap they added later :P |

Monday, March 16, 2009 5:30:57 AM Something doesn't look right in this quoted text: "The first HD DVD players were released in March 2006 in Japan, and in April 2008 in the US. By 2008, Netflix, Best Buy and Wal Mart had stated that they would openly support the competing BluRay format. In February 2008, Toshiba, the largest supporter of the format, soon followed suit. In less than two years, the format was all but dead." I'm not quite sure what the author of this article was trying to get at, but he/she might've had a better comparison by alluding to Nintendo's VirtuaBoy for duration in the public eye. |

Monday, March 16, 2009 12:03:46 AM Hmmm, dial up isn't really dead. But the first add isn't for dial up internet or the internet at all. It's for CompuServe circa 1983. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 7:23:58 PM I agree @ nedonemo. I remember my first words I learned to read were "stop" "rewind" "play" and "fastfoward"I still have a VCR, along with my very first playstation. It's the first version, doesn't even have certain hookups the second PS did. It's extremely fun to play the classic tomb raiders on that thing... |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 7:20:03 PM I had a NeoGeo... I also had an MD (MiniDisc)....Actually MD's were pretty popular in Japan until iPods and other MP3 players came out. They were sort of the inbetween for CDs and MP3 players... |

My friend owns a vintage store and gave it to me for a birthday present. I remember always wanting one when I was younger, back when they were rich ppl toys, lol. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 6:43:04 PM I still remember when I was afraid to use our dial up internet because I thought that when it "rang", someone would actually answer, and I wouldn't know what to say. |
