Me and my girl have a little tussle every now and then. I don't abuse her and I don't get abused, but if we get heated and she throws up her dukes I will not back down. I take a punch and give her one back at a .5 ratio. She knows I hold back but its still a little fun to get her back for nagging me and making me eat rice. Shes taller than me and is no punk so its not as bad as it sounds. We wrestle for fun sometimes and it always ends with some nice rough sex or a sloppy BJ. |

Why, Andy? Do you condone the statements of ChronicJ? If so, I find that equally ridiculous. Any man who finds it okay to hit women for any trivial reason is a failure. Maybe if she comes at you with a knife or gun with full intent to use it, but that's a different story. If your lady is cussing you out or "getting in your grille", that doesn't give you the right to strike her. She'd never done anything physical to you, and it proves you a poor character anyways.I'm sorry you feel I'm an idiot over my opinions, but your defense just proves to me you're just as much of a fool as ChronicJ. The human race is getting dumber and dumber, but I believe you're the better example for that, as would be any person that encourages or defends any one who would dare strike a woman like ChronicJ described. |

Baalthazaq: One way to get a very high figure, such as 75%, is to include words and actions and define "abuse" very broadly. That way, you can go as far as getting anyone who's ever had an argument of any kind and get a figure close to 100% if you like.For example, leaving the room or area is counted as abuse in some studies (but almost always only if a man does it and only in heterosexual couples, because of the image the people doing the studies want to create). So if a het couple are having a row and he storms off, it's counted as him abusing her. It's easy to hugely inflate the real figures. |

a post script to make sure i'm not incarserated for this... we were wrestling and she grabbed my arm and my hand got caught and my fingers broke. then when i flipped her over she fell on a lighter that had fallen out and it set all of the lint stuff on her sweater on fire |

Erm, there's also the detail that almost nobody on this site is even outside of the 13-29 bracket, and most people are under 18. 8 people on this page are 13-17.
12 people are 18 to 29. The "75%" polls may be based on a completely different age bracket (18+), and may also only be counting people actually having been in a relationship. Though I have never heard that figure. They may even be including abusive relationship with parents which could be much higher.
