Friday, March 06, 2009 8:49:35 AM The 3D didn't really work. Maybe if the bullets were coming towards you, it would've been better. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 11:20:13 PM And keep in mind that no hard drive exists that's fast enough to keep up with a high-speed digital camera. You need lots and lots of RAM.Not that you'd really need to record something long enough to warrant a 1TB HDD. Even one second of film at 1,000,000fps would take over nine hours to play back when slowed down to a typical 30fps. Regarding validity, there do exist cameras that are capable of 1,000,000fps. No idea what they cost, but you can bet you can't afford one if you have to ask. It's damn near impossible to find pricing on these things without having to email/call someone, but a measly 1,500fps (or was it 15,000?) digital camera cost something like $80,000. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 10:33:47 PM Bear in mind, gosu, that these films are all far shorter than 1 second.Needless to say, I'm impressed. Not necessarily by the video, because its simmilar to another posted here, but rather by how advanced our recording technology has become. But, I'm gonna double check this figure of 'a million' frames per second, seeing as how IAB's link descriptions are wrong most of the time. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 10:12:17 PM Damn!1,000,000 frames per second. Someone correct me if I"m wrong, but assuming that one frame is about 60 kb of space (being generous). That means that in one second, they fill up 60 gigs of memory? Not exactly epic what with the 1-5 terrabyte harddrives and such but seeing as how my computer's got about 160 gigs of hard drive space, my computer would fill up in less than 3 seconds of filming. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 10:10:33 PM I tried both red/blue and red/cyan glasses and neither one really masked both colors just right. And the action was going away from camera which made the 3-d effect even less noticeable. Oh well, still a cool video. You should always have 3-d glasses on hand. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 8:06:06 PM Keratoconus, habbazoot. And on that topic, systemfail, if you're not joking, tell your friends to google the long-term effects of wearing 3D glasses on eyesight, or do them a favour and do it yourself. It was a very popular thing for kids to do in the 50's/60's. The eye adjusted easily to wearing glasses with multicoloured lenses initially, but had trouble adjusting back when they stopped wearing them, and it led to an epidemic of colourblindness, blurry vision and in some cases total blindness. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 7:36:16 PM deathxtra, you can make your own 3D glasses with some red and blue celophane and cardboard, or your local comic shop is sure to have them. There are also many websites that show you how to make them. They don't work for me cause I'm blind in the right eye, but back when I had two eyes, I saw some awesome 3D effects using those simple cardboard glasses. Well worth making a set. |

Thursday, March 05, 2009 7:35:43 PM As far as slo mo bullet videos go, this one was pretty good. I especially liked the shot of the bullet coming out of the barrel. |
