wtf this absoltely disgusts me. They were most certaily fired for this. If I were her parents, I'd press charges. There is no excuse for that! And why is there a camera in the bathroom at all? Isn't there some law against that? I guess its permitted in jailhouses... |

Regardless of whether she badmouthed him or not, a cop should have control of his\her anger. There is no moral code or honor in striking someone because they talk crap. Very few cops (or civilians) have a strong set of morals anymore. Those that think she deserved it because she bad mouthed him, are just as ignorant as the girl. |

Even if it was provoked, it's still a blatent missuse of power and seriously disgusts me. He's not throwing her to the ground like he should be- he's grabbing her HAIR. Also, when he's putting the cuffs on, it looks like he's touching her breasts because he keeps reaching under her even though the other man is holding her arms.Disgusting. Seriously disgusting. |

While it is wrong for the police to just strike her like that, I'd want to hear the audio for this. If she was badmouthing the cop or taunting him, then I'd say the blows were justified. But if it was unprovoked, then it's the officer's fault. |

First: She took her mom's car. That is not a violent crime.Second: To say this guy crossed the line (which he very, VERY clearly did--even if it WAS a violent crime, there was no reason to PUNCH HER while she was PINNED) is not saying all police are scum. It sickens me that people are actually trying to defend this. This is not okay. Ever. |

Misogonystic PIG! There are some nice gentlemanly policemen where I live, yeah, some butt-holes too, I'm sure. They really roughed her up, I don't care what she said or did. She is also a minor. It's thier job to be model citizens, and to act rationally in a professional manner. In my opinion it just shows what he probably goes home and does to his wife on a bad day, or maybe even his own kids. I bet he felt like a stud doing that too, the f**ker. If I was head of police, I would be afraid to let this guy run around with a gun. He is a loose cannon probably dying for the smallest exuse to use it. Does anyone know what else happened, and if the family or the girl herself initiated a lawsuit? I would. That was definate police brutality. |

Honestly we don't have the right to judge. Who knows what she did before hand. Or the cop could just be a racist prick. But don't assume all cops are power hungry non-nice individuals. They get treated like poo by the public. I rode around with a cop for a newspaper article once. I made the mistake of leaving the window down and some punk came around and spat through the window. He said that was commonplace. Now if some bitch spat at me or kicked her shoes at me after something like that happened I can't guarantee I wouldn't flip out. |

cops are ass holes with no real talent or intelligence with uniform and weapons. You don't have to know or do anything special to be a cop, and thats why there are so many BAD cops. Even if she was giving him lip, its probably because he was talkin that holier than thou poo. Straight from the tone of " I have a uniform and a gun" Nothing says kick shoes at me, more than that does. |

Sorry, but "she deserved it" is probably the dumbest thing you could possibly say to this video...i dont care if she spit on him, as a cop you're trained not to lose you're cool and to handle the situation the safest way possible for everyone invovled. EVERYONE who watches that can agree he could've handcuffed her easily without that beating...have fun looking for a new job buddy,this is why no one likes or trusts police, you'd think they start policing themselves. Who knows they'll probably say she was "resisting" and she had .22 in her shoe or something to justify beating up a little girl. But these are the folks we PAY to protect us. |

Look, it doesn't matter what she said or how she behaved or how bad was the officer's day. It does not matter. If you need to put cuffs on somebody - it is your job as a police officer to do it properly without using violence. -Davek1013, i see where you're coming from, but i think a judge would think the shoe flick is a flimsy argument for assaulting an officer. And the fact that he was holding her by her hair as he walks her out of her cell....
I would be almost anything that she is free of charge at least, and the officer is remanded in some way, although probably not all the way to being fired/arrested himself. I hope somebody posts a follow up |

ya know they were probably Having a bad day, and the shoe flick was aimed at the cops so it probably counted as assault on an officer, giving the officer the right to subdue the girl, and he was not in the mood, so he totally subdued her.
And as far as the two punches... she was probably resisting. from the angle and quality of the of the video it makes it hard to tell but it took them around 40 seconds to put cuffs on her.From this video its impossible to tell if the officer acted correctly. You dont know how she was acting prior to the beginning of the video, As well as if she made any other assaults on the officers. If she was being extremely difficult prior that justifies it right there. You just don't know from the vid alone. |
