Saturday, February 21, 2009 3:26:43 PM diggna - Most of the time, people don't like things they don't know, or they're scared by them. From birth, it's pretty much hardwired into us that humans aren't going to harm us (the way babies learn and process information is amazing), so, instead of being afraid of what it is, if it looks human, we'll assume it's friendly...or at least not much of a threat. Or, that's what I guess. |

Saturday, February 21, 2009 7:36:52 AM Wow, it can "look" at things. This makes dust mites more intelligent, because they at least do something constructive. |

Friday, February 20, 2009 10:28:56 PM To me, the "Why" question is: "Why do we continue to try and make these things look human?" |

Friday, February 20, 2009 10:27:53 PM "So its a robot that can look at stuff. Why?"It's experimentation and development of technology for later application in . . . who knows what. Why make a stick that moves a dot around a screen? So you can later invent video games and call it a "joy-stick". It's just one piece of technology that could be applied to lots of things we probably haven't thought of yet. |
