There's a HUGE difference between fake and planned. There's also a difference between fake and a botch (as per the Christian/Stiener move above).Not only have I "seen" wrestling, I WORK wrestling. I have wrestled matches, I have booked shows, I have been backstage interviewer, and I mainly referee. So if you're trying to "convince" me you're right, it wont work because I know exactly what happens. Yes, the punches are pulled. Yes some people are that crap at doing it that they don't even hit (Shane McMahon on monday shows that for me). However you try taking a suplex and say it's "fake", it's no different to stunt work, in that the risks are minimalized, but you still have to hurt with certain things, and mistakes happen. |

Real or fake? - It ALL damned well hurts
Rubber floor? - What the hell? It's canvas, on top of a very thin layer of padding (we're talking judo mat thickness or less), with wood and metal beneath that.I really do wonder about the thought process that goes through some people's minds to try and "prove" wrestling is fake. It might be scripted, but everything in there hurts (well, unless you're with a complete tit who can't work), and that's coming from from a guy who works in there. |

lol i love all the "fake wrestling" flak that people feel they need to spit.of course it is scripted, so are all your other favorite TV shows... the fact is, it is not pretend contact. these guys are putting their bodies through hell to provide people with testosterone fueled entertainment. detest it if you want (i do) but don't call it fake- you can bet that sh*t hurts! |

I give props to the guy on the ground. He knew enough to kick out, instead of pretending that horrible miss made contact. I'm sure he lost later, anyway (per the script), but he made it so he lost "realistically". |
