oh, i actually saw this on tv one night when nothing else was on, they use a mixture of herbs to put the ants to sleep, then they intwine them into the glovesits part of the "boy to manhood" ceremony in the tribe, which is also accompanied by having your tongue poked dozens of times by a razor sharp bone |

theresanotheradulthood ritual where you go into the wild, collect enough vines, climb up some scaffolding they built, tie the now single vine (tied together) to their ankles/scaffolding, and jump off. their head must touch the ground. if the vine si too short, they fail the ritual. too long and they get horribly injured. each year they must go higher on the scaffolding |

Honestly, I have respect for this man. The video didn't lie, bullet ants are one of the most feared things in the southern americas. The fact that he was still standing after that is amazing. |

The natives do it for many hours. Strange how the non-native cannot take it. I have read many books detailing how many indian or tribal people have a much higher threshhold of pain. |
