On Grandmas: I think its age related... Yours, not theirs. When you're a kid, you think "Grandma is clueless", when you're a teen you think "grandma always messes up, but she means well" and when you're an adult... you don't care if Grandma wrapped the cat, you're just happy she made it through the year and is still around for Christmas.
